I put my Versa on the charger to charge and when I came back after one hour it was very hot and not responding at all. Tried all the buttons with no response, but can't get it to come back on. I purchased a new charger just to rule it out, only to have the same issue. I have tried the restart procedure several times with no change.
Help please!!!

I have the same problem. I have tried everything I read in the comments to turn it on/recharge...nothing. at times I see a solid red light in back, when it's hot the red light is blinking. I'm on my second fitbit. Seems like they last 2 years no matter which version. So frustrating wasting money.

I have the EXACT same thing happening. When I contacted support to try and see how I could fix it they said, “your warranty is up period.” All I was asking for was help. This is a really expensive product to only get to use for a year and half. Did you find anything that fixes it? I am SO disappointed, I loved my watch.

I'm having this issue with my Versa. Screen suddenly went black. I put it in charger but 0% blinked on screen a few times and versa is heating up. The green light was still running on back of watch but no charging. Please help...it is a lot of money to spend for it only to work for 1-2 years:(

My Versa was bought in December 2019 when I put it on the charger to charge and when I came back after one hour it was very hot and not responding at all. Tried l the button with no response and can't get it to come back on. I have tried the restart procedure several times with no change. It burns up if I try to charge it with in minutes.
Help please!!!

I went swimming with my watch on - it then went off and will not turn back on. I left it to dry, then charged it and it got super hot and still won't power back on. No green light on the back of the watch either. Help please! Thanks,

I was just over my warranty so I contacted help to find out if there was anything I can do, they said too bad your out of warranty and promptly ended my customer service conversation. I tried again because I just wanted trouble shooting ideas at this point and got told the same thing “Out of warranty. Period.” I agree it is a lot of money to spend on a watch that breaks down just after the warranty ends. I was so disappointed because I loved my watch, but also disappointed in the lack of customer service I received. I have been reviewing the watch where I can to warn others of the same thing.

Thanks - I had a previous issue and it was still in warranty so they replaced the watch in December last year which means still not more than 12 months old. Not great like you say as not a cheap product!

My Versa is the second Fitbit I bought. The first did the same. Apparently, when you buy a Fitbit, you have to be prepaired to change it every year, just after the warranty ends 😞

My versa also became hot and shut off, only I was wearing the fitbit. I tried restarting it multiple times, and recharging it after cleaning the charging connections. So far, the screen is black. This is so frustrating since i just got this device this summer.

You have a one year warranty - get in touch with them. Mine was just after and I unfortunately missed out which was also so frustrating.

I purchased my Versa 2 on July 1 2020, and am seeing this same problem of it getting very hot when charging after the screen went blank. At this point I don't feel comfortable putting this back on the charger due to the excessive heat issue.

Sorry to hear that. You can contact customer service as your fitbit will
still be under warranty. I contacted fitbit customer service and they sent
directions for sending by faulty fitbit in. I haven't heard back from them,
but am hoping to receive a replacement soon.

Thank you for the feedback. I will be sending the phone back for a replacement. However, I'm concerned that the replacement may end up with the same problem. The watch got too hot to touch while charging. Could it potentially cause a fire? I'm a little worried now about ever leaving it on the charger and not being in the room.

This is happening to me as well. Exactly one year after purchase... seems a little suspicious that all of us are on here with the same issue just after the one year wears off ... this is a $140 purchase! It should NOT need to be replaced after one year??? There has to be something we can do about this??
