I took my Fitbit Versa into the pool today for the first time and within a minute I saw that it had shut off. The back side seemed to be warm when I got out and while I'm not entirely sure, the back seems to have swelled up slightly. I put the device in some rice for around 5 days before messing with it to ensure that it had completely dried out and when I put it on the charger now it does nothing. Please someone help me! I've only had this for a few months and have kept it in very good condition =/

@Patronn welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it stopped turning on after swimming. By the way, thank you for taking the time to put your watch in rice and charging it before contacting our forums.
If you haven't done so, please restart your Versa as described in this help article. This will refresh your watch. Once you've done this, charge your watch for 2-3 hours and see if it comes back to life.
Keep me posted on the outcome!

Thank you very much. I will try this when I get home from work and reply back!
I tried resetting as directed, but it won't turn on at all. Tried charging it for a couple of hours before trying again nd it still didn't so anything.
I went ahead and let it charge for the rest of the night just in case and tried to restart it again, but no life whatsoever =(

My Fitbit Versa also became water damaged within a few short minutes. The face will turn on but it's a fuzzy ring and just not functioning. What can I do besides the rice and charging, which both have been done to date?
Help please!

@JAH533 thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit Community! I appreciate the spent trying the rice and charging workarounds in order to fix the issue that your Versa is experiencing.
Since your Versa also had contact with water and it won't turn on, please try drying the contacts with a cotton swab since they might be humid. After this, charge your watch for 2-3 hours. Finally, restart it as described in this help article and see if it turns on.
Let me know how it goes!

@CharlieKoh thank you for participating in our Fitbit forums. By the way, I'm sorry for the late response. However, I would like to follow up on the issue that your Versa is experiencing since it has some water and the rice workaround didn't work.
I would like to know if your watch vibrates when you plug it in the charger. If so, please restart it as advised in this help article. If your Versa is still unresponsive, let me know and I'll be happy to assist you accordingly.
As a side note, did you contact our Support team through the email address that you have linked with your Fitbit account?
Looking forward to your response! 😀
