Versa has taken over bluetooth

Anyone having an issue with Versa taking control of bluetooth on phone to the point where phone won't recognize any other available bluetooth devices?

Purchased a Versa last Saturday as an upgrade to my charge HR 2. After having several issues with setting up AND talking with customer support, it is being replaced (thanks!).

I kept fooling with the device trying to get it to sync with my phone via bluetooth and update the firmware via wi-fi. I "think" I was somewhat successful. However, it appears that the device or app has taken over the bluetooth on my phone (Galaxy S7). Every time, I try to sync with any other device (car, echo dot, speaker), my phone won't recognize them as being available.

There has to be something going on with the firmwear, but it is really annoying and I'm quite disappointed.

@CR_Johnson welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your phone's Bluetooth stops working with other devices after syncing your Versa.

I would like to know how many Bluetooth devices do you have connected to your phone together?

In the meantime, try restarting your phone. After this, turn off your Versa manually by going to the "Settings" option (swipe to the left all the way) then scroll all the way down and select "about". Finally, scroll down and tap on "Shutdown". Once you've done this, push the button and try connecting your Bluetooth devices again. Make sure that there are not many devices connected to your phone since there might be interference.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

At any time, I typically have only one device paired with my phone. However, there are instances that I have 2 devices (Versa and watch) paired simultaneously.

Since I seemed to have had issues with connecting both, I've unpaired everything and now my phone will not recognize any other device.

Upon attempting your trouble shooting advice, I was able to pick up other devices. However, my phone simply would not pair. This has happened on other occasions as well.

Upon restart, my phone won't connect to the Versa either.

At this point, I'm convinced that it has to be an issue with this device as I've never had these problems before. Additionally, even the times when the device was paired, receiving text message and phone notifications were sketchy. I'm have an up to date galaxy S7 and am having all of these issues.

Please tell me this is a one off instance with a bad device and not normal functionality

@JuanJoFitbit

I've received my 2nd Versa device and attempted to set-up. No other devices are connected to my phone and I am connected via a different wi-fi connection and still no luck.

I have a Galaxy S7 which has android version 8.0.0 (latest update).

Based on this either one of two things are true:

  1. The firmware for this device simply is not compatible with android 8.0.0 devices.
  2. There is an issue with the phone. However, I previously had a smartwatch and a charge HR 2.0 paired at the same time and I was able to connect the bluetooth to my car while driving.

Please advise before I return the device to the store. This would be quite disappointing. Thanks!

Whoa! I don't accept this as a solution! I attempted to uncheck the "accept solution" box and it accepted anyway.

I absolutely do NOT accept the answers provided by Fitbit's staff. None of my problems have been solved and given other commenters to the message board, my issue isn't unique to me and should be investigated and fixed
