I recently bought my Fitbit Versa, but the heart rate monitor is off by a factor of two! Is there a way to re calibrate it?

It's great to welcome you @Littleuno.

Heart rate reading varies depending on several factors like movement, temperature, humidity, stress level, physical body position, caffeine intake, and medication. If you haven't already done so, please review our information and tips for heart rate accuracy in the What should I know about my heart rate data? article.

If your heart rate monitor seems broken or inaccurate after taking the recommendations into account, feel free to let me know. Woman Happy

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I looked over the information you sent me but it still doesn’t explain why the heart rate monitor is detecting double my actual heart rate. I checked it myself by counting beats per minute the old fashioned way and I counted 60 while the Fitbit counted 108. Could there be something wrong with my Fitbit?

@AlejandraFitbit I went to the dr today for a normal checkup and asked them to check my heart rate for me.I just wanted to double check the calibration as I need to be as accurate as possible for the best possible workouts.

My pulse was 81 and my Fitbit showed 68. I asked her to take it again and it was the same. I need to stay atop my heart rate even when I am not working out so this is important. Really it is the only reason I bought it. Will a Starbucks app is great, I need to accurately track steps ( changes if I am just typing at my desk ) but most importantly it needs to let me know how my heart is going.

I have only had the watch for less than 2 weeks.

Please help.

James
