As I try to use my fitbit I find more problems with it. Since the update the heart rate is out of control. I was on the treadmill at the gym and the heart rate on the machine said a comfortable 101 so I tried another couple of machines similar results. Fitbit had me at 157. At 157 is very high for someone my age and totally useless as a device for someone concerned about their heart rate. Now I realize it's not a medical device but before the update it was at least close to what any other machines said. I guess it's a new feature to get me to calm down? I'll be checking step count next.

Hi @Cybdiver, due to the recent events, I apologize for the delayed response. However, it's great to see you in our Fitbit forums.
I'm sorry about the heart rate issues that your Versa experienced. I was able to get in touch with our Support team and was told that they have been assisting you via email. Please reply to their last email and they'll be happy to assist you accordingly.
I'll also be around if any question arises.

Do you know what an exercise in futility is? Let me explain so anyone following can get caught up.
I've tried all the FAQ and other recommended steps several times and was told to do those things again
I was given the usual answers of things that I had already tried. The watch wasn't on right, clean it etc., etc. and a list of excuses basically trying to tell me it was my fault.
Clearly it was none of those things. Clearly it's still the firmware update from December 2019. Unfortunately no one wants to accept that fact. The email you are referring to told me to adjust how I wear the watch, to make sure it's clean. Funny thing how none of the problems existed before the firmware update. Now since it's your firmware update that has caused the problem that 25% discount is not really an acceptable solution either. It's like you hit my car in the rear and now your trying to blame me. Sorry but my car was in good working order until you crashed it.

Hello Cybdiver, happened the same to me... My fitbit out of nowhere started having problems with the heart rate like for example I was sleeping and my heart rate was in 200, something very impossible. I wrote them and their solution was the classic turn off and on, restore from fabric and then nothing worked so they told me that the problem would be given to above. I didn't have any answer so I wrote them again on April 13th and they told me it was a problem that different users had and that they couldn't do anything to help me besides I should wait and see if same way out of nowhere would go back to normal. I stopped using it like from march 20th till april 25th that I charged it and checked if good news and at the end by magic, it was accurate. I have other problems now though but the heart rate is fine now. Try to leave it at least a week, no charging or anything and then try again.
Best regards,

Keep an eye on that so called accuracy. I usually compare mine to several other devices at the gym (when it's open) with heart rate monitors. None of them are 100 percent accurate as I don't suspect the Fitbit will be but close enough is good. It's a good baseline but 200 bpm is way out there. Mostly I see it go wonky when working out. I never wear it when sleeping. If you got it to work reasonably well again good for you.
