Versa heart rate lights not working

My heart rate lights don’t work. I’ve removed Versa from app, removed app from phone, reset versa and restored the watch to factory settings. I’ve cleaned the back of watch, cleaned my arm and lights still don’t flash. Also doesn’t receive calls or notifications.

I had a surge prior to this. It only lasted 1 1/2 years and all Fitbit
offered me was a small discount on next purchase. This one was working fine
until run yesterday . Stopped working after 2 miles. Got for birthday last
March so didn’t even last a year. Product should last at least a few years.

I mis spoke, surge lasted 3 years. Garmin I had prior last much longer but was just a tracker.

And it probably won’t work. Fitbit will do nothing to help if your device is out of warranty, except give you a small percentage off another device. It’s super frustrating. I had two devices go bad at 13 months. Figured I’d give Fitbit a chance after the first one, thinking maybe it was just a fluke. Won’t fool me twice though...doesn’t seem like good business to me...

I want happy when they discontinued my first Fitbit. I rolled the dice and
got this one hoping it was better. Not!

I have yet to hear from Fitbit.

I’m on my third failed Fitbit device and now I’m totally done. My first device was the Charge 2 that suddenly showed a vertical crack on the screen. Upon research I learned that this was a common problem. Since it was within the 1 year warranty, Fitbit promptly replaced my device with another Charge 2. However, within the next year, this replacement had the same problem! When I spoke to customer service, they told me that they couldn’t do anything for me because the device was out of warranty. When I explained that I had the replacement for less than a year and it suffered the same issue, they said the warranty is from the date of the original device and doesn’t apply to the replacement! Ridiculous! Last year, I decided to try one last time and purchase the Versa. Turns out, this device stopped working (no heart rate monitoring and failed battery) just 2 months out of the warranty period! Looking through the Fitbit community it appears that this is a common problem. Fitbit routinely replaces these flawed devices if they are within the warranty, but for countless other devices the company does nothing. To me, a flaw is a flaw and should be fixed. This is obviously not normal wear and tear because users are having the same issues shortly after buying the device.

I have also been offered the insulting 25% discount. I called to speak to a supervisor today, but was instead put on hold for 10 min and mysteriously disconnected (with no call back of course). Why would I buy another fitbit device with this poor track record and the fact that the company won’t truly stand behind their products?  How many times can Fitbit say things like “I’m sorry for you negative experience” or “thank you for sharing this as it will make us better” before actually doing something to increase device reliability?

Yeah, I should have gone with Garmin, I had one of those for 10 years. It
was just a tracker. I would be happy if Fitbit lasted 7 or 8.

What happens if the fitbit is more than a year old? I got mine late 2018 and it stopped working after I spent 10mins swimming. It's supposed to be waterproof.

MissyBe, based on my experience I think you are out of luck, unless you think 25% off a new device that may only last a year is great deal!!

You can check, but when I reported my issue, at 13 months, it was a KNOWN issue with hundreds of reports and was given a 25% discount for a new Fitbit. But not ANY Fitbit, only select devices. Good luck!

Maybe I'll be covered. I just checked my app account and I first made it in March 2019. So if worst come to worst and it can't be fixed. I should be getting a replacement.

Fitbit is sending new one. Also offered 50% off if I wanted to purchase a
different one. Hope this one lasts.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do as well as my Fitbit to versa quit working 3 days ago. Only the green light lights up anymore. I do believe it's over 1-year-old but thought I'd touch base with you and see if there's anything you or the team can do for me.

If it’s over a year old they may give you a discount to purchase another
Fitbit. My watch stopped working all together yesterday. The are sending me
a new one as mine was under a year old. Let’s see how long this one lasts.

Thanks for the input. I will inquire with them but unless they replace it
completely I'm not going to stay a Fitbit fan. Too much money to have this
happen and I've here so many other people apparently having the same issue.

Found out mine was also below a year old. They sent me just the screen part
with no wrist band. The wrist band also broke about 4 months ago while I
was asleep. I didn't ask for a replacement because I thought my 1 year was
over. Turns out it wasn't. It was smooth sailing getting the new one. The
new one doesn't have warranty though. So if it stops working in the next 10
months I probably won't buy another fitbit.

I’m sorry to say, from my experience with my last 3 devices, that the most Fitbit will do outside the warranty is offer 25% off a new device. These devices are flawed based on the amount of people having the same problems. It’s just the luck of the draw that it happens within the warranty. If you want to roll the dice and buy another device, that’s up to you.

I am done with these watches unless the new one lasts a few years.

Me too. I’m done. 3 devices in about 3 years. Pathetic.

I've been very happy with my Versa 2, up til now.  Same problem, tried all the fixes, nothing has worked.  Mine is out of warranty, but given the comments on here if I can't get it working I'm unlikely to get another Fitbit - shame i really liked my watch but just can't afford to throw away $$ regularly.  If anyone has any suggestions i'd love to hear them, I really don't want to give up my Versa if I can help it.

If you still have the receipt you may get the company from where you bought your watch to exchange it for a new one.
