Versa heart-rate monitoring is way too high

Just started using my Versa on Saturday 6/16/18 - heart rate monitoring is way too high compared to my Apple Watch version 3 which I replaced w/ the new Fitbit - any suggestions?

Hey @warrenw597, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Let me ask you this, are you notice that your heart rate is too high when you are exercising or all the time? In the meantime, I suggest you to take a look at the following troubleshooting to get more accurate heart rate:

- Moving the watch up a couple inches can be helpful during high-intensity exercises or exercises that cause you to bend your wrist frequently. If you haven't already done so, please review our recommendations for wear and other tips at this post.

Try changing the setting (either Auto to On; Off to On or On to Auto) and then syncing your tracker.

- Restart your Versa

Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

The Versa measures my heart too high all the time - I have my Apple watch on today and it is measuring correctly based on me checking my pulse manually at the same time the watch is measuring. . .

Interesting. I find it other way around. Perhaps measure your BPM using a decent blood pressure monitor like Omron?

Thanks for your reply @warrenw597. If your Versa isn't registering your heart rate very high all the time, don't you worry, our team is already aware of this bug and is working toward a solution. I will ask you to be patient while they fix it. 😉

@Marrrmaduke, I hope you are doin' well! So is it your Versa tracking your heart rate too high? By any chance, have you also tried the tips I posted earlier? If you haven't, I urge you to give it a try. It might work.

Keep me posted guys!

I posted this in another thread but since I am not sure if my issue is related (software or hardware):

I have had mine since 4/16 and it appeared to be working fine and pretty accurate. Exactly 2 months (6/16) after using it, the heart rate spiked into peak zone when I was casually walking (my resting heart rate is normally under 60 and walking is in the 70-80s). Since Saturday it has been absolutely worthless for tracking my heart rate and sleep (only tracking basic mode and not showing deep, rem, and light sleep). Yesterday my heart rate chart shows I was in peak for 1 hr 57 min, cardio for 8 hrs 22 min, and fat burn for 7 hrs 33 minutes and I burned 6,191 calories. By the way, I have a desk job and I am sitting for approx 11 hours per day. The only thing my watch is really useful for right now is tracking my walk and run steps/distance (I 'think' it is accurate)... Heart rate is critical for trying to increase my performance while staying under a certain heart rate.

Is my heart rate issue the same as reported so far? Most of the users with this issue have had the heart rate issue from the beginning, mine started 60 days after using it. is this software or hardware?

Also, I have tried everything to fix this: restarted, factory reset, turn heart rate off and sync, etc. but yet as I sit at my desk, checking my own heart rate at 56 beats per minute, my versa is showing 155. No big deal, only 100 beats off....

This sounds like the same problem I began having approximately 30 days after replacing my Blaze with the Versa.  As you have noted, it is now useless for tracking anything but steps/distance. As I sit at the PC my heart rate per the Versa is 146 while my BP monitor registers 66.

Thanks for your response - I've decided to stick with my Apple Watch and return the Versa. . .

How high is too high? My Versa is showing around a hundred beats per minute too high!

Having the same problem. Was there an update that caused this bug??

No update, no fix.  FITBIT Customer support has washed their hands of this problem and offering their customers nothing. This is my second VERSA with the same problem they have known about for months.

Thanks for this info. I have tried this several times and now they are sending me a new pebble. I am so worried that this issue will carry forward with the new pebble.

I got my replacement and it died within a week. I got my second replacement and I've had it over a year with no problems at all. Knock on wood. I think the problem is in battery batches, with most being just fine.

Pebble? lol

@Phrayzer do you think the battery is a direct cause of the heart-rate monitoring being off? I'm glad your replacement is working!

I had thought so because the heart rate issues all started at the same time as the battery issues. Could just be a coincidence!

The pebble is what they call just the watch without the band. 😉

My watch is not showing the battery life all the time either in the left hand corner of the pebble. image.jpg
