Versa heart rate not working

My new Versa is great but the heart rate monitor does not seem to work. The videos say there is a blue light but mine has not blue light in the back?

Is mine just broken, should there be a blue light HR monitor?

The light should be green, not blue. And it will tend to not be blinking when the watch is not worn. Check the setting to make sure the HR monitoring is on, and if you are wearing the watch, see if it is actively reading your heart rate.

I'm having the same issue about not having a light in the back. I started a thread a bit earlier about it. 🙂

Apparently I'm not alive according to the Versa. 😛

Same issue.

Only had mine a few hours and my H/R monitor has stopped working too.

Not good for a new device 😡

Yep, HR is On, and after a whole day, still says 0 for HR, also no green lights.

Wow thats scary. For a brand new product. Really guys from what i read here seems like the device has serious problem(s). How can Fitbit release a product with so many problems, its so strange.

I picked up my versa last night and am having same problem. Have had many different fitbits and never had an issue with wearing it on my left wrist where I have a tattoo. After doing some reading tested it on my right wrist (that doesn't have a tattoo) and instantly picked up my heart rate. So obviously for some reason my tattoo is interfering with the sensor. I have talked to customer service and they are supposed to get back to me tomorrow, hopefully this issue will be fixed

I hope that’s not the case as I have tattoos on both wrists!!

Same problem. Hard reset my versa once already. Turned it off and on. Nothing. No heart rate monitoring at all.

I was having problems with the heart rate sensor. I figured out that it can't be on my tattoos that I have on both wrist. If I move it slightly above it it works. It's really annoying though because it's not in a comfortable part of my arm

My new lavender SE versa's heart rate monitor is also broken.  I compared the HR light to that of my husband's grey Versa we both preordered from Amazon.  His when I wore it, has the versa sensor with green lights no problem.

Testing this via Fitbit Support with 5 attempts had me try various activities:

- Hold thumb on sensor for 10 seconds awaiting the lights to come on.  Mine never wakes and I have never seen a green light out of the box.

- Going into Versa settings, turning off Heart Rate, syncing to Fitbit, waiting 1 minute then turning settings for Heart Rate back on, does nothing either.

- There are now requests for me to send video footage of me providing footage of the - - Heart Rate stat on the fitbit.  It helps to compare what a non-defective versa should look like as wearing my husbands easily shows Fitbit that mine is faulty yet I've had to jump through numerous hoops before getting service.

Shoddy at best and super frustrating since switching back to my Charge 2 and Alta HR for the time being.

Man Sad This needs more attention really. Way too many people are affected. Is this a software issue????

When I contacted support yesterday, they told me I would need to send it back after doing all of the troubleshooting, twice. Oh, and they wouldn't send the new one out until they received it. Back to amazon it goes.

So I posted below last night w my issue and my tattoo on my left wrist and it not reading it, wore it all day on my right wrist and no problems (I just prefer to wear on my left) so did some testing tonight and put back on left and as long as it's placed where it is onky partially covering the tattoo  it works but very intermittently. I've talked to customer service twice and they said they have escalated the call and someone should get a hold of me in next 48 hours. I understand there will be bugs, but they need to get these taken care of asap, besides the hr sensor and the fact that changing the bands is a real pain, I love it, but I want it fully functional and for $240 it should be working exactly how it's supposed to and it's not. So I guess I wait 48 hours and hopefully get a call, but if not I will be calling them. Back but will not be nice this time

Yep, not sure what's going on with mine but the Versa my husband has works perf because I coasted the sensor softly on my wrist to see if after a few seconds it'd pick up my heart rate as seen in the pic. It did! Meanwhile my $30 extra special one still doesn't respond. I stopped wearing it until I can get this resolved because luckily I have another Versa to compare my strange hiccups to.

Nope, no tattoos for me, if I swap the placement of the versas on my wrist, the HR will work on the standard but not SE lavender. The green light on the sensor never turns on no matter what I do. I'm just gonna return this back to Amazon and reorder a new one since I think I got a bonked one. 😞

So I wonder if this issue is w just the special edition ones or what?

I have tattoos on both my wrist in the area I would wear the fitbit. I can't wear it on my tattoos it will not read my heart rate but if I move it slightly above my tattoos it works just fine, just annoying because it's not where I would wear it normally.
