My new Versa is great but the heart rate monitor does not seem to work. The videos say there is a blue light but mine has not blue light in the back?
Is mine just broken, should there be a blue light HR monitor?

Will do. And yes if I wear on my left wrist I have to wear it slightly above and it is annoying

I have exactly the same problem it won’t read my HR on my tattooed wrists. Although it works fine on my wife with no tattoos.
Bit of a joke really so I returned mine for a refund.

I have the grey SE one and my HR monitor works. I have had it since Monday. I will say last night the HR monitor did not work (however still managed to calculate my sleeping) but I turned off my air in the house and I got hot, sweaty and my wrist was inflamed this morning when I woke up. I had to take it off for a bit for my arm to cool down. (That's just how my body does in the heat.). It is working now for me since this morning.
It seems if the light isn't on then that is just not working. That could be a malfunction for that specific watch. However if the light is seen, then maybe make sure the watch isn't on too tight.

Same issue. Looks like I'll be returning mine as well!

Weird. I was wondering if mine would work. Just finished my first real workout. It was spot on for both the stepper and the elliptical. The charge always has problems with the stair stepper and sweat. Not so it appears with the versa. At least for me. This was comparing the versa to the on board monitoring of both machines.

My versa arrived without the HR monitor working. The lights just never came on in the back.
Fitbit has been awful to acknowledge or to offer a fix. I had to spend over an hour resetting the watch to factory setting with the representative on the phone. Then they "upgraded my issue" and I had to wait several days before they asked for two videos to prove that the lights weren't on. I was sent the product before the release date and they used me as a bug tester.
Then finally asked me to send it back but they used really slow shipping so it won't be back to them for over 12 days, then I have to wait 7 business days for them to check the watch, and then wait another 7-10 business days for a refund.
Pass on the versa until they figure out these issues.

Yes, this is the correct solution. Pass on the Versa. A lot of people saying the HR does not work out of the box.

The heart rate tracker wouldn't work in my left wrist until I read your answer. I have a sleeve all the way to my wrist on my left arm. As soon as I moved the fitbit to my right wrist the heart rate tracker instantly works. Not sure why this is but thank you for the fix.

I don't think this is a fix. I had no issues w tattoo and my blaze or hr. Fitbit needs to actually fix this so we can wear our watches where we prefer

Mine had the same issue with the heart rate monitor. I went into the settings on the watch and the heart rate was set to off. Luckily mine was an easy fix.
I did have the same issue with shipping. I pre ordered the versa and when it arrived there was a surface scratch. They fought with me until finally they agreed to have me send the watch back. They sent me a new one that took about 3 weeks to arrive. Because if this, I definately recommend waiting as well. It’s an expensive watch with room for improvement

Had a Charge 2 before and switched to a Versa now. My Charge 2 was monitoring my heart rate all the time, worked perfectly. Not the case with the Versa. Problem could be the tattoo on my wrist (what did not bother the Charge 2). When I move it up a bit on my wrist (at an uncomfotable position) it does monitor my heart rate. Too bad... 😞

My heart rate monitor showed 0. I went to the watch settings and found heart rate monitor was off. It's now working fine!

Have the same issue. Already waited 20 days and now they are in backorder. But the Versa is available from Amazon overnight. Worst Customer service ever.

I switched from Surge to Versa my husband gave me for mother’s day. Versa Worked well for 3 weeks. It said you can swim with it up to 50 meters. I used for two minutes in our pool.this stopped working. First the swim have to be manually done then the blackout then stopped syncing. Multiple resets log outs and reinstalls no heart rate. The lights the pick up heart rate gone...even after several factory resets gone! Will be returning this buggy Fitbit ... back to surge . I have an apple I watch but love the Fitbit app. Fitbit why have you failed me?
