Versa heart rate not working

My new Versa is great but the heart rate monitor does not seem to work. The videos say there is a blue light but mine has not blue light in the back?

Is mine just broken, should there be a blue light HR monitor?

Hello @Angelica2018, thanks for joining the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the forums and for sharing your experience with us. If you'd like to perform a factory reset on your Versa, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Settings app in the Versa.
  2. Tap on it and scroll down until you find "About'
  3. Scroll down in the next screen until you find the "Factory Reset" option.

Please keep in mind that this process will delete all your information for the day, so I would like to suggest you to sync your Versa before proceeding.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Has the Versa bpm problem been fixed?

I had to get a new one which took nearly two weeks. The first one lasted 6 weeks before it stopped. So far I've had this one 4 weeks. Keeping fingers crossed.

No. Unless I turn the versa around to the inside of my wrist, I get no heartrate reading and no sleep tracking. Not thrilled, but not much I can do, is there? If the versa won’t read through a tattoo, I can’t understand it.

You should get a new one. A tattoo should not be a problem. Customer service is not great but if you keep at it they may listen to you.

Fitbit has put in a fix for this problem.  I just called and they have added a new setting.

Reset the watch by pushing the left button and bottom right button for 13 seconds.

Once the logo appears swipe left until you can see the settings wheel.

Activate the settings app and you will see a lint for turning the heart monitor on and off.

Mine was off and I turned it on.  No more problem.

I don't think this setting was there last week because I looked for a heart monitor setting.  So if restarting the watch didn't work for you, try again.  There appears to be new software to download.

I’m on my 2nd versa and the HR monitor is not working. I had the first versa for about 3 months and suddenly the battery started draining and would only stay charged 1 day max. A few days after that it would not charge or work at all. Fitbit was quick to fix the problem and send me a replacement. I received the replacement last week and the HR is “on” but has not worked since I set it up. Again, customer service told me the steps to “fix” the issue but nothing worked. They are sending me another replacement. Let’s hope 3rd time is the charm. Is this issue only with the special edition versa? My husband has the regular edition and has not encountered any of the issues I’m having. Really hoping the 3rd versa is free of problems. I’ve been thinking about ditching my Fitbit for the Apple Watch.

I, too, am on my third Versa. I just got this one a few days ago so I can't
tell if it is the keeper or not. My first one had heart rate monitor
problems and the second one crapped out after 5 minutes of splashing around
in the water. I am glad I bought this watch at a store with a generous
return policy because waiting for Fitbit customer service to jump through
all their many hoops is a total pain! Good luck!

I’ve had my Versa for 4 months and just today the heart rate stopped working.  No lights in the back.  That affects the calories burned number too.  When the heart rate went to zero my calories burned dropped about 500 calories!  This is crazy that so many people have this problem!

Where did you send it to get the refund?

You have to start with customer service and they will instruct you how to get satisfaction.  I had to take a video of the phone not working.
But the second time it failed I took it back to the store where I bought it.

Good choice. Buy the Apple 3 you’ll love it. I really wanted the Versa Fitbit but it has taken a while for them to maybe find a fix and they still have not acknowledged there was/is a problem with the device.
And they have the worst Customer Service.

Customer Support was able to get it working again, although the troubleshooting steps were kind of bizarre!
