Versa heart rate not working

My new Versa is great but the heart rate monitor does not seem to work. The videos say there is a blue light but mine has not blue light in the back?

Is mine just broken, should there be a blue light HR monitor?

Yep. 8/10 people on this thread have needed to return their versa when the heart rate monitor doesn't work.

I've had this issue since April. Contacted Fitbit, etc. No fix. Finally reading this thread and switched it to right wrist with no tattoo and it instantly started working. That is unfortunate as I wear a watch at work to cover tattoo. Never had this problem with the HR Charge.

Not really, my HR stopped working for 2 weeks but I hadn’t notice much and I never thought it would be a problem not seeing the green light blinking I never seen no light turning on until I was trying to find a solution, even try to change my facewatch setting and that didn’t work and not even turning on or off my HR on my settings on the fitbit and it didn’t work. I found the solution and mainly I haven’t heard anybody menchin UPDATING the versa, same as updating the phone when it needs to, and mainly the versa needs to be at least 100% charge or charging and it worked. Let see if anybody can try updating the fitbit on your phone and let it update it might take a few min or even hours But it does work on my end

My Versa heart rate monitor was working perfectly on my right arm until some irritation started to rise from the band. I switched it to my left arm (which has a tattoo) and it stopped working! Flipped it so the monitor was on the underneath side of my wrist, with no tattoo, and it immediately started working again.

I've updated the firmware and it still does not read over a tattoo.

Just an update since I started this topoc I believe months ago.... Did the update on actual fitbit and actually do receive notifications finally... But HR still does nt work when I wear it on my left wrist.. Which is very disappointing because that is where I prefer to wear. I can't say that I will purchase another fitbit in the future which I'd ashame because I do like the looks of them, but until the versa never had the problem with the HR.

Fixed mine... Mine worked fine for 3 days then just stopped reading heart rate altogether.

So with mine it turns out the touch screen face is very sensitive and I often find my coat has opened menu. So it turns out that it had managed to open settings and turned heart rate monitoring off. Simply tuned back 9n and all good now.

Experiencing a different heart rate issue here, where the Versa gives extremely high and incorrect measurements for heart rate (around 130-150bpm while resting)

Fitbit support has provided zero assistance. Extremely infuriating.

I reset my Versa (hold down left button and bottom right button) and it solved the issue.

after firmware udate on the 10th of january, my versa is no longer recording HR. i have tried restarting my device , check that HR tracking is on on my app and on my watch. Please Advise, it is less than a month old. It also doesnt track my sleep data anymore.

When I first read this I thought it was the dumbest thing I’ve heard. How could a tattoo affect the heart rate monitor. I am having all the same issues with my versa as well. I’ve had the ionic and several other ones without these type of problems. But for kicks and giggles after reading this comment I switched my versa from my left tattooed wrist to my right untattooed wrist and it WORKED INSTANTLY!!! Fit Bit should really be ashamed of this product!!!!

I sadly don’t have any tattoos on my wrist and my versa still doesn’t work after factory reset.

Never again Fitbit.

3 fitbits and now I know I should have went apple. 🤔

FitBit has definitely lost their edge. Now I have to wear my Versa on my dominant hand and is inaccurate in tracking steps. I have been with FitBit for 4 years with each new product but like you I am now going to Apple.
