Versa heart rate not working

My new Versa is great but the heart rate monitor does not seem to work. The videos say there is a blue light but mine has not blue light in the back?

Is mine just broken, should there be a blue light HR monitor?

Heart rate not working, no lights whatsoever; tried loose, tried tight on the wrist, tried higher in the wrist, tried lower on the wrist; no tattoos, never have submerged or wet the Versa, never dropped it; it is new; heart rate in Settings is On; help please!! How do I get money back? How long is the warranty?

Fitbit, why mark this as solved, it does not look like solved! The user gave up. So far all I have read is the same problem over and over. Can you really help or not? Please reply. Thanks.

Where did you buy it? If, at a reliable store, return it. You can start a complaint with Fitbit but know that it takes forever and the hoops you have to jump through are numerous.  Good luck!

Call the Fitbit customer service. However I returned first Fitbit versa ( that died after swimming in the pool) to Kohl’s where I got it because I had my receipt. I got an exchange. Got an exact versa and has been working fine. I even went swimming on the beach no issues .

I restarted my Fitbit Versa and it started monitoring my heart rate again. To restart, Go to Settings - About - Shutdown

Yeah, did the exact same thing... no tattoo no problem?

Ah thank you for this. I just got mine yesterday, and HR wasn’t registering. Googled it and did everything they said, resets, checked settings etc. I have a tattoo on my left wrist right where the sensor is, just switched wrists and it’s reading perfectly. Which is so annoying because I hate wearing a watch on my dominant hand...

Thank you SO much for your response. You are the only person (including Fitbit moderators) who actually explained HOW to do the reset. Kudos.

It most certainly is - I read page after page of responses, and yours was the only one that clearly explained what to do. Thank you again!

I'm SO glad I read your answer re the Fitbit Versa NOT displaying the BPM.   As far as I know, I never intentionally turned BPM display off, but sure enough....when I went into settings to check to see if, by any chance, this might be the problem.....voila!!!!   It was, indeed, turned off.   I switched it to "On" and all is well again.

I probably should've known to do that myself, but the Versa is new to me.

Thank you!!!

When I first got my Versa I thought it was great. Now I think it was a waste of my money. I should have spent more and bought an Apple Watch.

Lesson learned.

The customer service from FitBit is comparable to talking to robots

Most smart watches cannot read heart rate when there's a tattoo in the way.

I was able to get the HR to work by resetting the Versa but the odd thing is that it’s worked for weeks up until today. Very sad. I’m worried this restart won’t hold. I’m really sorry I didn’t buy the watch from COSTCO like we did my husband’s. When his stoped working they just gave me my money back right on the spot. No videos needed and no wait time. No endless conversations with Fitbit. Perhaps these watches weren’t a good purchase.

Mine stopped working after about a month or 2 and I did not have any of the supposedly things that could affect its function. I gave up and “divorced” from Fitbit and purchased an iWatch. Fitbit had all the features I wanted, but if they do not work or will stop working shortly after buying the product, then is not worth it!

I cleaned up the sensors with a special polishing cloth that I use for my eyeglasses. Cleared it up and am getting the pulse rate I wanted. Geez, it took a lot of reading then stopping, pulling back mentally, and the idea to clean the sensors came to me. A lightbulb moment. Thanks everybody for your questions and feedback.

The light on the back of my Versa is green and loves to blink when I clean it.
