Versa heart rate sensor not working properly

Hello group...received new fitbit Versa yesterday. Set-up went well however it appears that the BPM Sensor is not working properly. On my wrist it doesn’t register...the band is tight so i feel the sendor is on my skin. When i remove it from my wrist and place a finger on the sensor it will turn green intermitantly. Is anyone else experiencing this problem. I have had the “Charge” for a few years and have not experienced this problem. Any ideas?

My Versa mysteriously stopped taking my pulse.  It may have been timed with a watch face change.  I went into the settings on the watch (gear wheel) and found that heart rate sensing was set to off.  Turning it on fixed the problem.

A co-worker of mine just got a new one and I was trying to help her fix the same problem and it was her setting on her watch that had heart rate turned off for some reason.

Yes it worked for me but why should I have to do that? It might show their software or something is faulty. Position on wrist helped though.

Glad to hear you were able to fix the problem. It seems that most tech
manufacturers take it for granted that all consumers are as tech savvy as
the experts...I struggle to keep up as well.

thanks for the info. My sensor hadn't been working for a few days and I came to the forum to see how to solve the issue and everything you suggested in this post worked. So thank you

I have the Versa too. What worked for me immediately was I went to my watches settings and scrolled to the tab that says "about" and then scroll down to shut down, it will turn the watch off. I turned my watch back on after 5 seconds and my heart rate monitors lights came on and it started tracking my heart rate again. Easy fix

I have found several times that my heart rate monitoring has been turned off through no action of my own. Both times I was able to fix it by going into my setting on the Versa and turning on heart rate monitoring. From the watch face, swipe left until you get to the settings (gear icon) then go in and find heart rate monitoring and turn it back on. That worked for. If that doesn’t work check settings in the phone app.

I would say the heart rate works when it wants too and have not had this watch long enough for the problems.

Today my steps are not registering as well as my heart rate. I have turned off and restarted it 3 times and I still have nothing. What is the next options it’s almost a year old and love love my watch! The green light works and everything. Just not showing I the home screen on my watch but it shows within the watch when you go into the info.

Go into the settings on you watch (gear icon if you swipe from right to left). Make sure Heart Rate is on. I’ve found mine off somehow several times.

Call FitBit. If there is a problem with the watch within the first year they will replace for free.

Hi all

This issue was resolved some time ago. A new fitbit Verda was sent to me as it was faulty.

Thanks

Actually having problems with the new one synching today - worked Sunday. Didn’t wear it yesterday and now today it hasn’t synched at all.
Try all the turning on and off solutions.
Going to try it on another device and see that works

The Versa is junk. I bought mine when it came out and it didn’t last 8 months. The sensors quit lighting up.  After a couple of hours of “troubleshooting” nothing worked so I was sent a replacement. Here I am 5 months later with the EXACT SAME ISSUE. Once again, I contacted customer support just to do everything I had already done and it still doesn’t work. Here’s the kicker - they won’t send me another replacement because my warranty expired one month ago. How convenient.  Instead they offered me a 25% discount TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE!  Gee, thanks, but I’m not a complete idiot.  I’ll pass.  They told me that my issue was rare. If it’s rare why did it happen to me TWICE?  Maybe I should play the lottery!  If it’s so rare, why are there a ton of forums with the exact same issue for other Versas?  Because they’re cheap. Fitbit doesn’t care about their customers once that warranty expires. They think we’re stupid enough to purchase more of the same junk. I’m getting an Apple Watch.  Thanks, Fitbit.
