Versa heart rate sensor not working properly

Hello group...received new fitbit Versa yesterday. Set-up went well however it appears that the BPM Sensor is not working properly. On my wrist it doesn’t register...the band is tight so i feel the sendor is on my skin. When i remove it from my wrist and place a finger on the sensor it will turn green intermitantly. Is anyone else experiencing this problem. I have had the “Charge” for a few years and have not experienced this problem. Any ideas?

Mine was out of warranty so they wouldn’t replace it, just the 25% off a new one but not the versa or versa 2. My husband bought me the versa 2 through amazon and got the 3 year extended warranty. I was looking at the Apple Watch pretty extensively though.

They have definitely heard about this issue.  I was reading about it on the forum posts before mine did the same thing.  They just stopped caring about their customers and don't want to take proper responsibility for a clearly defective product.  I expected a $300+ product to last more than 1 year and 4 months.  I ended up getting the Samsung Galaxy Active 2.  The fitness tracking isn't as accurate, but at least it works, smooth scrolling from screen to screen, and I can make and receive calls right from the watch.  All at the same cost as the Versa!

My heart rate sensor is not working properly. I tried to restart my fitbit versa and even set the sync off. Deleted the device or unpaired it from the app and the device's heart rate is still not working after it is again paired

Yeap same here, definitely a defective product. Mine is/was 1 year 4 months old. What a scam. Good thing I bought squaretrade warranty, hopefully they send me a check instead of another watch that WILL break.

Never buying Fitbit again.

After restarting my versa 2, turning the the bpm on/off on the watch several time I decided to moved it around on my skin to test the sensor and it appears that it can not be on top of a tattoo.  I moved the watch to my dominant wrist and it seems to be doing fine now.  Not a fan of wearing it on my dominant wrist but I suppose I will have to get used to it since that is the only place it will work properly.

If there is a solution to the tattoo issue please let me know.

I have restarted the versa multiple times and checked that the heart rate is set to on. I have resynched multiple times. Worked very well until now. The green lights either stop or only one or two go on and then they stop. Time for a new versa or is this fixable?

I don't know if this would help or not, but have you tried cleaning the back with a cotton swab? I was having a problem with mine not charging (I know, not the same thing) and I had wiped the back with a damp cloth, which didn't help, but using a damp cotton swab did. Maybe the device isn't registering the heart beat because of skin oils or something?

I've found that if you have tattoos where you're device is located it doesn't work as well.

The problem seems to be with the green lights themselves. In the last few days they have stopped illuminating at random times.
So - if the lights are on, it works very well. I turned the watch on and off, resynched, turned the heart monitor on and off several times - and the green lights still do not come on. Therefore I think it is a fatal problem - but ideas welcome. And - no tattoos.

I'm having the same issue. I noticed that the option to put the heart rate in auto mode is gone in the app, it now just says Heart Rate Zones. That might have something to do with it. Some might be affected more than others due to a software update. I tried troubleshooting it, to no avail. Not even a factory reset and enabling it in the device settings made any difference.🤔 If I find a fix, I'll share it.

Do u have tattoos? It wont read through tattoos unless u put an epoxy
sticker on the back of it over the light

*Hi, no. I don't have tattoos. It turned out to be faulty and they are
replacing it for me. They were really nice and understanding about it. I'm
glad you asked that question because so many people are unaware of what
could be causing it not to read, sometimes that is exactly what their
issues are. Thank you!*

Even after a factory reset the heart rate  sensor is doing doing absolutely nothing.not at all pleased with Fitbit in the slightest . Warranty is out and y’all seriously tried to give me 25 percent off of a brand new one!

Yeah, it may be planned obsolescence, but if I manage to lose these last 12
pounds before that happens, it'll take some of the sting off.
