Versa heart rate tracking accuracy concern

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My versa records my heart rate fine when I'm not exercising but when I work out it records that my heart rate barely goes up. I can feel myself that my heart rate is elevated when I work out as it's harder to breathe/talk but my versa either shows that my heart rate is at around 100 or doesn't show anything at all. The exercise machines I use show my heart rate to be at about 170 during these times and while I know my Fitbit measures my heart rate differently I've never had it record that much different before. I know I'm wearing it correctly and I've cleaned it. I've tried restarting it and setting it up as a new device again on my app but that hasn't fixed the problem.

Hi @sally96, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for trying some troubleshooting steps before posting over here. Heart-rate tracking can be affected by several factors including air temperature and device location on your arm. For more information about this, please check our help articles:

However, if your heart-rate tracker seems inaccurate after taking the recommendations into account, please reply with answers to the following questions so I can further investigate:

  1. What were you doing when you noticed the problem? If you were exercising, specifically what types of exercise?
  2. Were you wearing the Fitbit device particularly tight or loose?
  3. What was the position of the Fitbit device on your wrist?

I'll be waiting for your reply if further assistance is needed.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.
I've been wearing my Fitbit the same as I always have and haven't had this issue before. I've tried tightening it and moving it up my arm a bit when I've noticed it not working correctly but that hasn't helped at all.

Specifically when I noticed the issue I was at the gym on the treadmill, elliptical and stationary bike. I've also noticed it when hiking
