Versa is losing my steps

This evening my step count suddenly dropped to 164 steps. It had been somewhere around 14,000 steps and suddenly dropped. It’s acknowledging that I did a run this morning but says that contributed just 164 steps to my daily total!!! I’ve turned it off a couple of times and have done all updates! I had a goal this year to do at least 10k steps each day and 100k each week, up to today I was on track - will be super upset if it’s not going to record today’s steps!! Any ideas??

I am having the same issue.  I watched when syncing my watch and phone app.  The phone app would drop my steps first then a split second later my watch would match my phone app.  It is doing it a few times an hour...completely frustrating.  I called the Support number and spoke with a rep.  The rep acknowledged that I should have well over 10k steps (both phone app and watch show 130 steps).  My watch is accurate until I sync (but not every sync causes an issue).  They were not aware of the issue when I called but later when the rep contacted next level support the rep said that next level was aware of issues with multiple users and would "email" a resolution.  How long will that take?  I don't see Apple having this kind of issues...

It is affecting my Versa 2. It is a fitbit error and they need to fix it and give us our steps back. My watch has gone off 4 different times that I met my goal of 20,000. But then I lose a ton of steps and have to work back to the goal just to lose the steps again. I've had a fit bit since beginning of Decemeber and it seems like monthly there has been issues. Wondering if its worth it anymore. I got it because my job offered a fitbit wellness perk so many steps a day equaled so much money a month but its error after error and if u call they state no error on their end and never seem like they even care

On my Versa it dropped to 14 steps, accumulated up to 140, then dropped to 14 again, then at 120 it dropped to 14 a third time. All this evening.

At the moment I have 14 steps and 11 floors. Not possible, of course.

I have a Charge 4 and the exact same thing happened to me today!  I'm in a work week competition, so I did 2 workouts today and made it all the way up to 17,000 steps. My fitbit suddenly dropped me down to 7,800 steps and I was very upset! I called fitbit customer service twice and went through all the resetting and troubleshooting steps to no avail. They don't know what's wrong with their system and no one can help. This is unacceptable!

Yes, this is happening to me too yesterday I was having 10,170 steps but after syncing this morning, it dropped to 9170 steps.. And also happening today.. I was at 10000 steps just a moment ago and now it has dropped to 7190 steps..

What is happening here, Fitbit can you please look into this? Is our database hacked or why is this happening when there's no recent app updates?

As info, I'm using Versa 2.

Same here! And mine stopped receiving texts notifications as well. Worked well before update. Fitbit needs to fix this!

I did not notice until tonight that I only had 35 steps on my Versa for the entire day.  I then went for a 2 mile walk and noted that I would get to 900 steps but it would drop back down to less than 200...  So, this is a widespread problem.

I decided to check my steps count clicked on the steps and then today's numbers to see how often I got my steps each minute for 10-1013 was showing 1320 steps then while I was still looking and it became 1015 I was down to only 34 steps for 10-1015. Watch instantly lost the steps too.

I am having the same problem. My versa lost all of my steps today around 8pm and started all over. It is also not tracking my sleep anymore and is not showing the phone number when I get a phone call like it used to. ? How can I fix this?

Why don't they allow us to add pics or am I just not seeing how its possible? I took a screen shot of the app at 11:19 had 24,134 steps then at 11:20 I had 23,894 would be able to show them my calories and miles dropped too

Hi MarreFitbit

This is the first time this has happened. It happened around 8pm BST (I’m in the UK) and it’s on both watch and ap. I sync regularly. I’ve synced this morning and step total is 164 on the ap. Exercise stats from yesterday’s run - 3.53km, 21.55min, 223 calories, 164 steps, 0 active minutes. Obviously not right but from the other responses looks like a widespread issue. Hoping you can resolve it please.

I had the same issues this morning. My versa literally didn’t track about 3,000 of my steps of a cardio route that I have been doing for almost the last two months. I know when I should have hit goal. It has been off all day today. About ready to walk away from FitBit after almost of 5 years and stick with my Apple Watch

I also have been having the same problem. It has taken away my workout activity as well as flights and reset my steps 3 times. So frustrated!

Hi, just to say it’s doing the same thing this morning. Also not syncing with texts, last time was yesterday morning (actually an offer from EE about an Apple Watch ironically!).

Hi. Im part of a challenge on fitbit with a group of others and had over 20000 steps yesterday and last night it dropped to around 8500. I thought it might have sorted itself out today but no. I've only had a fitbit since end of May, surely it can't be faulty?

A screenshot; 14 steps, 11 flights.

Not likely.
