Versa is losing my steps

This evening my step count suddenly dropped to 164 steps. It had been somewhere around 14,000 steps and suddenly dropped. It’s acknowledging that I did a run this morning but says that contributed just 164 steps to my daily total!!! I’ve turned it off a couple of times and have done all updates! I had a goal this year to do at least 10k steps each day and 100k each week, up to today I was on track - will be super upset if it’s not going to record today’s steps!! Any ideas??

- Make/model of the phone you're using  - Galaxy S8

- OS of the phone - Android v9

- When was the first time this happened and how often since then? I first noticed that I was losing steps yesterday

- Is this happening everything you sync or just after opening the app your steps are gone? Nope, it happened yesterday evening. Then again this morning. My Versa syncs throughout the day so I don't know if it happens in conjunction with that.

- Are you missing any other data like calories, floors, etc? My house is two stories but my fitbit rarely tracks floors. Most days it's at 0.

- Is the time on your watch matching your phone's? The time is fine

- How many steps do you frequently lose? Have you noticed is a similar amount? Yep, yesterday it was about 9,000, today it was 10,000

- What's the Fitbit device you're using? Versa

I typically manually add the steps back in after I notice they're gone. BTW, I still have the problem of my Versa freezing with only the Fitbit logo. I originally brought that up a year ago and it still happens.

Make/model of the phone you're using  - Huawei

- OS of the phone - Android 8

- When was the first time this happened and how often since then? I first noticed that I was losing steps yesterday,/last night. Today it has reduced my count by several thousand

- Is this happening everything you sync or just after opening the app your steps are gone? I noticed last night when I synced that my counter was deducting steps not adding them. I sync constantly throughout the day

- Are you missing any other data like calories, floors, etc?  The other data is changing too. My fitbit has also stopped logging sleep.

- Is the time on your watch matching your phone's? The time is fine

- How many steps do you frequently lose? Have you noticed is a similar amount?  The amount varies. This has been happening since Monday at least. That's when I noticed my steps were reducing instead of increasing.

- What's the Fitbit device you're using? Versa Lite

This just started happening to me yesterday.   I was at over 11,000 steps.  Came back from my walk and synced and it dropped to 8,000.   Not cool.

This is the second day in a row that I have lost steps, and earlier today, I refreshed/updated my Versa Lite software. I went on a 90-minute walk this afternoon and am under 500 steps! Normally, I would be at about 10,500. I've totally lost confidence in Fitbit data, unless this glitch is fixed. I feel there is nothing I can do on my end. Thanks.

My steps are disappearing on my Fitbit when I sync it. It has happened 2 days in a row. Every time I sync it puts my steps down to 32

Fitbit, please get you S%!T in one sock.  You are a major company asking for support from your customers like you are a small tech company.  It's embarrassing that you cannot provide any information on a timeline for a fix.  You do realize without customers you will not exist...right?

Updated, restarted, and synced but have been losing steps for a couple days now, random amounts, no pattern to the amount of time. It's quite frustrating when you are trying to reach goals and stay motivated.

I was sick of losing steps so I tried doing a workout and turn my bluetooth off I dont think I lost any steps I'm up to over 28,xxx. So I think its a sync issue I will hold off on sync again till after midnight because fitbit states it can hold memory for 7 days if you didn't syc so I'll sync it in the morning and see if it then syncs the steps from today correctly. But when I go to bed I will take a pic of my fitbit for proof of my steps if it syncs incorrectly to file another complaint with them about it.

Hi, this has happened to me repeatedly over the past 2 days. I first noticed during the day that the steps on my watch had gone from about 7000 down to about 1000 and then I synced to my phone app and the steps went down there too.
Today the steps have disappeared again from the watch twice, about 3 hours apart. When I sync my phone app, it just updates to whatever the watch is now saying.
I’ve tried resetting the watch, deleting and restoring the app etc. nothing has helped.
Thanks

Same issue! Problem started yesterday. Not only to my Versa, my mother's Charge 3 experienced the same issue. Had 14000+ steps initially and it dropped to 148steps as soon as i re-synced it. Reboot-ed, factory reset-ed, unpaired and pairing it again but all not working. Steps will drop to 100+ as long as i re-synced it, no matter how many steps i walked/ jogged... This is really frustrating...😖😭

I lost steps yesterday, too. I went to about 3k twice, and both times, as soon as the watch synced, I went back to about 1,5k. So, I lost at least 3k steps. And a few smaller losses after that.

I’m running IOS 13.5 on my iPhone. This week when I synch my watch I lose steps. On Monday I went from 6600 to 1023 upon synching, Tuesday I lost several hundred steps with each synch, and today I have synched 3 times and keep getting taken back to 90 steps despite walking my dog before leaving for work, walking down 3 flights of stairs to get to my truck, and having to walk through the parking lot and down a long hall to get to my office.

My watch also doesn’t care much for tracking my heartbeat despite my positioning the watch on my wrist according to its instructions. The only time it maintains any sort of real tracking is when I tighten the band as tight as possible, which is horribly uncomfortable.
