I have a fit bit versa. It is about 8 months old. It shows I walked 20 steps today which I did. Unfortunately the app says I only walked 12,000 steps. What is wrong with the syncronization? It use to be very accurate, but every day it seems like I get cheated out of steps I walked. Very frustrating.

Go back and reread your post; check if those numbers are really what you mean.

This is what happens when you do a double workout and decide to post a question when it is 11pm at night and, you can barely keep your eyes open. My apologies. Thanks for the reply. So let me restate the question.
I wear my FitBit versa and have had it since July 2019 (almost 9 months). Usually at the end of the day I sync my fitbit to the fitbit app on my phone in order to record my daily steps. This has worked perfectly in the past, however in the past few weeks my steps are not being recorded on the app correctly. Specifically the steps shown on the app do not reflect my actual steps walked at the end of the day. For example yesterday my FitBit watch showed that I walked a total off 22000 steps. However when I sync it with the app, the app registers far less steps. So instead of 22000 steps it was syncing as 12000 steps. So the app is cheating me out of steps by not recording accurately. That is the problem.
