Versa is not registering my heart rate or sleep and battery drains quickly

My Versa is not showing my heart rate or my sleep pattern. The green lights on the back are not lighting up  and one of them also looks white.  Plus I seem to have to charge it every two days now.

Hi there @annie26, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for letting me know that your Versa has stopped tracking your heart rate and sleep data and that it also has battery issues. I'll be glad to help you with that.

As a first approach, I'd like you to please confirm that the heart rate settings on your watch is "On". On your device, open the Settings app Heart Rate > tap to turn the setting On.

If the heart rate is On, I'd recommend trying the following steps:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your watch, from the main screen of your watch, swipe left until you see "Settings", next swipe up until you see "Heart Rate" and switch it to Off.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Versa. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Versa's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your watch once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your watch.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible) We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

Remember that getting heart rate readings is key to receive your sleep stages

In regards to the battery short life, I suggest taking a look at this help article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

Let me know if you need further assistance, I'll be around.

Dear Form,

Yes, my heart rate monitor is turned on, and I have done everything that you said to do.
I have turned my heart rate monitor off, then manually sync, by opening my account icon, switching it from off to on, syncing my watch. I've restarted my watch placed it on my wrist snug and been wearing it several days and nights. The green lights on the back do not light up at all. I'm wondering if I should maybe do a Factor Reset if that would help. I have nothing saved on my watch, no music or credit cards to worry about losing.
Thank you

My versa 2, my wife's versa and other people I have met with versa's (versi?) have had the flaky heart rate pickup, it's my only bugbear with my versa 2, I bought it after my ionic went *wrong* (had to edit as the politically correct brigade said no) after less than 2 years.. to say I am sadly disappointed would be an understatement. I get the " it's because your wrist is tattooed", true, but the ionic worked and it's it's on the same wrist... So that's that argument shot down.. I got my ionic repaired and the versa 2 is sitting on my desk gathering dust. I am really not happy with the situation as I bought a newer model and it's worse (almost unusable). the new Fitbit sense.. if I hadn't have bought a versa 2 I might have been interested in buying one... As it stands I won't be buying another Fitbit until it's proved they've sorted this issue out.. oh, last thing I didn't buy a Fitbit because of fitness and exercise, I bought it because of a heart problem. I keep a record of my heart rate to spot (potentially fatal) problems.. so the sense would have been pre ordered and paid for by now.. nice one Fitbit.. the ball has been firmly dropped...
