Hi
Yesterday my Fitbit versa completely overestimated my calories burned! In total I apparently burned 2512 calories even though I did no exercise at all... By 9am yesterday my versa told me I had burned 942 calories which is obsurd! I thought I'd compare with my colleague that wears a Fitbit Flex 2, bearing in mind she had already done an intense HIIT class before work, and she had only burned 812 calories!!! So mine isn't correct at all!
I've looked on other forums and the only answer I'm getting is to check my age, height, weight is correct in the app...which it is.
Also I fear it thinks I'm walking when I'm stuck in traffic when driving to and from work also. I looked on a forum for this and saw an answer to log driving as an activity, but that only accounted for 160 something calories...which is again quite high!
I stayed up until midnight last night to see if the watch reset to 0, which it did. But I woke up at 06:30am GMT and I'd burned 454 calories. I understand our bodies burn a low number of calories while at rest to carry out vital bodily functions... but definitely not as many as my watch is making out!
Im really quite disappointed as I only bought my Versa 3 days ago and I've been looking forward to having one for ages! For the price I would have hoped it to be quite accurate but this really isn't the case if the Flex 2 is giving more realistic results.
If anyone could help me if they had a similar problem that would be much appreciated! Maybe an update or a reset is needed? The main reason I wanted the versa was to compare my calories burned at rest to at the end of a workout. If I cannot find a solution before 30 days I will be returning for a full refund!

I'm not sure there is a problem. Rather than your BMR calories burning "... a low number of calories..." you body actually burns a lot just keeping you alive. Fitbit say:
"Your BMR usually accounts for at least half of the calories you burn in a day and is estimated based on the physical data you entered when you set up your account: gender, age, height, and weight."

If you are not sure about that then google BMR calculator and use one of the online calculators to check fitbit's calculations.
As an example my BMR calories are 1440 per day out of a total of around 2000

Did you get to the bottom of this? Was there an issue with fitbit's calculations?
