Hello everyone!
my versa has been overestimating my calories burned during activities.
I weigh 258 and am 5’8.
A 48 minute walk at a 20’32” pace was calculated as having burned 505 calories
But every other website I’ve used says differently
this tracker says i should have burned about 328 doing the same work out.
This applies to basically every workout. I’ve double checked and all my info is correct in my profile. So far I feel somewhat disappointed

Even with my BMR which is admittedly somewhat high there is no way i should have 3320 calories burned by 2 pm when all I have is about 120 mins of walk and biking half an hour

A 248lb male walking for circa 50min would be around the 500kcal mark.
That said I feel the Fitbit Versa is drastically over estimating my calories too.
It recorded a 348kcal burn for a 30m low intensity/low load resistance workout.
Swimming seems to be underestimated.
Im very disappointed

Funny, this site would seem to agree with Fitbit. I don't know your age but by estimating that and the distance you probably walked in the 48 minutes you've posted along with your height and weight, I get the same result.

The website you used says fitbit overestimated my calorie burn for a 18 mile bike ride by 300 calories. I’m 23 btw

Yes I've noticed that too.
try alternating between an apple watch and the versa and you'll notice the fitbit shows a little too many calories burnt.
Now the fitbit has "active minutes" and the apple watch apparently only displays the calories burnt during a workout. Correct me if I'm wrong there. That's what my friend who has an apple watch told me.
At this point I'm not sure if it's just the data that is displayed incorrectly/ in a different way or if fitbit and apple both collect data only during certain scenarios.
But yes there is a significant difference and fitbit generally shows more calories burnt as far as my experience with the ionic and the versa go.

I compared my usual morning walk with the blaze and with the fitbit and i have the same amount.

I've been using the versa for almost a month now, and the calories were way off.
I've been callorie tracking before I got the fitbitt and I lost weight pretty cobsistently using estimates from different websites and myfitnesspal.
Now I'm on a weight gain plan, and I've been steadilly gaining weight over a two month period.
The versa however says I should be losing about half a kilo weekly. I'm gaining between 0.2 and 0.5 kgs. This accounts for almost a 1000 calorie difference daily.
The estimates are actually better when I'm not wearing the watch 😄 But that kind od beats the point of having one, yeah? 😛
