Versa is stuck on swim mode

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My versa is stuck in swimming mode and does not respond to any commands.

I tried everything, the double tap, the very strong double tap, the very very strong double tap, the bottom button with the top button, all possible combinations of buttons, move the watch while pressing the button.. nothing.. nada!!! I didn't try to boogie while pressing the buttons though....

Even restarting doesn't work.

What else to do? Buy a Apple watch?

Hi @JulB3 - when in swim mode use buttons to navigate, display tapping is disabled.

Bottom right to pause

Top right to trigger end confirmation (in pause mode)

Left and bottom right for a few seconds to force exit exercise (may lose the exercise).

To restart, long hold the left and bottom right watch buttons for around 10 seconds till it blanks or vibrates and wait for the logo to appear and for it to start.

Thanks @Guy_, I tried everything.

The watch is completely blocked.

My only hope is to wait until the battery runs out of power.

I will no longer use this function.

What a shame!!

thank you

Have a great!!

Hi there, @JulB3. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa is still stuck in the swim mode. I will do my best to help you with this!

As our last resort, I'd recommend performing a factory reset on your Versa. Important: Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

With the above being said, please sync your Versa and then, proceed with the steps below in the order listed:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.

You can follow the steps to set up the device after that: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

@Guy_ Thank you so much for your input!

Thanks for your help but no buttons respond to commands.

I have tried everything.

The watch is completely blocked.

I believe that this option (which comes from the last update?) is not compatible with 1st generation Versa.
