My heart rate is not showing up on my watch? Why? My steps still are & the time! What can I do to fix this?

Hi there, @Cburgy. Welcome to the Community Forums.

As a first approach, I'd like you to perform the following steps below for this situation:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your Versa. To switch the heart rate settings on your Versa, from the main screen of your Versa, swipe left until you see "Settings", next swipe up until you see "Heart Rate" and switch it to Off.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Versa. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Versa's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your Versa once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your Versa once again. To do so, press and hold the left button for 8 seconds while it is plugged into the charging cable as if it were charging.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible) We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

I've moved your post to the Other Versa Smartwatches board for organization purposes.

Hope this helps.

Hi MarreFitbit,

I am having a slightly different issue.  My heart rate monitor is working - I can see the green light on the back, although not the red one.  Two days ago I stopped getting info on breathing rate and HRV at night.  The only difference is that I turned off the background app refresh for fitbit under settings on my iphone because the app was draining my power quickly.  I have turned that back on and will check again tomorrow morning.  Everything else seems to have been working fine.  Also, I have premium.  Any thoughts?

Hi there, @Sally203. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your watch before reaching out.

Take into consideration the following requirements to see your health metrics data:

  • Wear your device for at least 1 full day (during the day and to sleep at night). Check your stats after you wake up in the morning. Note: skin temperature requires 3 nights of data.
  • Make sure the back of your device is in contact with your skin. The band should be snug but not constricting. If you experience any discomfort, loosen the band, and if it persists give your wrist a break by taking it off.
  • Most metrics require at least 3 hours of quality sleep. If you move a lot during your sleep or the sleep session is too short, you might not get a reading.
  • To track your blood oxygen saturation, confirm you have an SpO2 clock face installed. For more information, see How do I track blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) with my Fitbit device?

Also, keep in mind that several factors can affect your breathing rate, including age, sex, weight, lung and heart conditions, anxiety, and fever. For more information, see How do I track breathing rate in the Fitbit app?

Regarding the battery issue, please try updating your Fitbit app to version 3.43 or later. Updating your Fitbit app should fixe the issue with your Fitbit watch's battery life. To do so, see How do I update the Fitbit app?

Hope this helps.

Thanks Marre. I have minded all the suggestions. Tonight we will see if anything changes now that I have turned the background app refresh thing back on. If it does not resolve the issue, please let me know what may be the next steps? Again, the response you sent was not anything I had not already tried. Might this be a problem with an iphone update? I have had things reported just fine for months.

Thanks

Again today no breathing rate data or heart rate variability data. Everything else is fine. Please advise. Thanks.

I have had no breathing rate or HRV on my Versa 3 since June 24th. Is Fitbit working on a fix for this? I've seen other postings with the same complaint.

Hi @Paddlegirl, I had a live chat with support yesterday and they said they are aware and are working on a fix. This morning, I noted a further change. I got simplified sleep stats in addition to the absence of breathing and heart rate variability data even though I slept for over 7 hours. Let’s hope this means that they are trying things and this is a short term thing.
