Versa isn't showing sleep stages

For months my Versa has recorded sleep just fine, but the past ten days or so all I get is simplified sleep data. I have not changed my settings or how I wear my wrist band. My device receptors are clean. What is the problem?

Welcome to the Community, @jcostamagna.

I am sorry for the delay in respond. There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Let me know the outcome. 🙂

Obviously not. He said nothing has changed. Everyone reporting issues here has done the obvious. You wouldn’t suddenly start sleeping the wrong way or not charging your watch every single night after years of success.

All my sleep info displays in the app just not on the Vera2. From day 1 it only would display total time asleep. This morning it started to work without me doing anything.

Lets see what happens tomorrow.

My Versa 2 was recording stages and then suddenly stopped.  But here is the clincher.  While it does nor record stages for me, it does when my husband wore the watch.  Go figure!

Embarrassing admission:   At some point I must have turned off my heart monitor. I take my watch off when I play basketball so I didn’t really notice.  Turned that setting back on and...boom...sleep stages are back.  Apologies for not updating sooner.  Being dumb is hard to admit, some days.  🙂

It gets easier with time and number of incidents -- take it from one who knows.  I am to the point that I admit things that I didn't do assuming it must be me.
