Hi all, I noticed that most of the non-Fitbit stores, and also Ftbit itself, are only offering a limited warranty time, which is IMHO totally unjust.This period should be longer for a device above $200 dollars. The reason why I post this, is that I bought my Versa online by a Dutch Company, which gives me a two year warranty for my Versa (removed) I already bought a lot of stuff from this company and they make never a problem of returning a faulty device. So, to be short: if my Versa stops working within two years, I simply get a new one without any questions asked. Wished that more companies had/have such a service. If my Versa should stop working, I will have the same day a replacement as there is a store at 12 km of my home. I just go to the store, tell them what's wrong with the Versa and I will get immediately a new one. Have had that experience before with my HTC Pro smartphone.

Regardless of what a fair warranty should be, the difference is not about that particular seller, it's that it is in Europe.
" for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase, except that if you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA) and you purchased your Fitbit product in the EEA, the warranty period is two (2) years from the date of purchase (the "Warranty Period")."
from Return Policy and Warranty.
I have no idea if you were in Europe when you purchased it, or if you live there.
However I would wonder about if that site was shipping to the U.S.
I would just be cautious about encouraging U.S. buyers to buy from there based on 2 year warranty.

So you want an unlimited warranty? I'm not sure how well a company would do if customers had unlimited warranties. Someone could come back in six years and get their Fitbit replaced? Or get 20 replacements over however many years for buying one watch? Did you actually mean unlimited warranty, or what kind of period are you talking? Even the warranty you described doesn't sound unlimited (two years is a limit, besides whatever the other terms are). In the EU I believe Fitbit's warranty is two years also.
I've never actually heard of an electronics company that offers an unlimited warranty, or one longer than a year or two. Please correct me, as I'd love to buy anything electronic with an unlimited warranty. I'm not sure that exists.

Hi, where do I mention "unlimited"? I have a two year warranty. Not more or less.
BTW, this is just a online webshop with a **ahem**ed good service, that's all I wanted to say. Are you aware of any company at this moment that gives such a long warranty period?

Hi, I live in the Netherlands and will ask Customer Service, whom I know very well if they also deliver to other countries. Keep you posted on that.

Personally, I purchase almost everything on my American Express card. One of the member benefits is that they double/extend the warranty on most items. I’ve taken advantage of that benefit (not for a Fitbit) and the process was relatively painless. You go right thu AmExp, not Fitbit or which ever company you from which you made your purchase.

So how does that work exactly? Doesn't someone has to talk with the original company to get the replacement? How long did it take when you used it? That's amazing that American Express would warranty anything purchased with their card? I can't imagine how many companies they'd have to deal with. Then again, they do make a pretty profit. And I'd trust them over a retailer I haven't heard of.

I imagine AmExp communicates with the original company but I really don’t know. They told me to expect the replacement in a week to 10 days and that they would handle anything else. Same thing when I’ve found a questionable purchase on my statement. The amount was immediately removed while they dealt with the company making the charge.

And to further add what @SunsetRunner correctly stated, the company @SunsetRunner mentioned, based in Europe, is simply fulfilling an European law, nothing more, even Apple had to comply with that for the devices sold in Europe to European customers.

@SunsetRunner depending on the product, Netherlands requires a 1 -3 year warranty. Most electronics is given a two year but apparently this is not set in stone. Of course a store may offer their own warranty, as many do. Then the consumer will be dealing with the store, not the manufacturer.

I just purchased a Versa from Fitbit and expect it to be here in a few days. At the time of purchase I did NOT purchase the extended warranty. Have you all purchased the extended warranty? Can I add the extended warranty after purchase?

Hi @Gemini18 . If you purchased the Versa from the Fitbit.com store, you can contact Support to see if you can still purchase the extended warranty. If you purchased it from another retailer, check with them. Several stores near me offer a certain period of time when you can purchase the extended warranty.

You could also purchase this directly from Square Trade it might cost a little more
