Versa lite doesn’t always track my swims

Does anyone else have problems with their versa lite not always ‘auto recognising’ swims. Its bad enough that the watch automatically assumes the pool is 25 mts when it’s actually 18. Most of the time it’s ok ...then randomly when I check my iPad There’s no swim registered. It’s also done the same with walks occasionally. I've had this watch about 2.5 months now and it’s missed about 4 or 5 swims.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @AB63.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing that your Fitbit Versa Lite doesn't always auto recognize swims. SmartTrack recognizes activities based on the continuous movement of your arms. Sometimes, motions such as placing your arms on the bar of a treadmill, or pushing a stroller while you walk, may interrupt SmartTrack. Additionally, stopping in the middle of an exercise may interrupt the activity tracking.

By default, SmartTrack recognizes an exercise that lasts at least 15 minutes. If your activities aren't being recognized, lowering the time auto-exercise recognition setting to 10 minutes may help ensure they record properly.

I'm looking for more info on this too.

I was under the impression that the Versa Lite didn't track swimming, but it turns out it does! I've been swimming 3 times a week and it has automatically detected my swimming and showed some good information like duration of the swimming workout, length, avg time per 100 yrds, calories and more.

The issue I'm seeing is that it doesn't detect it EVERY TIME, it does it maybe 2 out 3 times or even 1 out of 3 times. I was bummed because after every workout I wanted to see how I did and there was no info at all. I tried restarting it, synching it and nothing. Then after that I wanted to see how to activate the tracking myself before I start swimming and can't find how to do that either.

I don't understand why it does it automatically sometimes and other times it doesn't (sometimes I have a gap of a whole week without any tracking and other times it would track 2 sessions in a row).

Any help will be appreciated!
