Versa lite don’t want to sync

I bought my first versa lite exactly a year ago after 3 months it literally stopped working, I contacted fitbit and they sent me a replacement that was working great until now.  I traveled to a different time zone and after coming back I noticed the time wasn’t changing on my Fitbit, I try syncing the device to my phone several times and I wasn’t successful, I then decided to read a few threads here and some people recommended to do a factory reset, now my phone doesn’t recognize the Fitbit and the Fitbit is only saying please download the app. I have tried everything, deleting the app, forgetting device on phone (first thing I did about a week ago), Bluetooth on/off.

this is very frustrating, these are not cheap devices, why are they so bad?

thanks!

Sorry to hear this @GreMart may we have the model of the device that your having issues syncing through?

I'm not sure which posts you read about doing a factory reset which should never be done until the last resort.

also removing a none syncing tracker from your account will only add problems.

OK, you say you did a factory reset that removed the tracker from your account, and resisted any data not synced, but have you removed the Versa from your phone? This is done through the phones Bluetooth, by removing the Versa as a trusted BT device.

Yes, that was one of the first thing I did. I removed the device from my phone meaning the bluetooth list. I did that because the device wasn't syncing. I then try to connect again and nothing, then I tried multiple times to just turn on/off the fitbit but nothing was successful. I'm just very disappointed and frustrated since it hasn't even been a year since you guys sent a replacement for the original one.

At this point, the fitbit when is on it's just asking to download the fitbit app, which I did and I know is not my phone because my phone is connecting to other bluetooth devices I own.

About a week or two weeks ago I did an update of my app and I think that's when it started honestly, but because I was on vacation I didn't pay to much attention to the fact that even though the fitbit was working (time, stopwatch, alarms..) it wasn't syncing with the phone, when I got back home the time was not changing and that's when I noticed the problems. Thanks,

Removing the device from the phones Bluetooth is a good idea. But the user can not ew add it to Bluetooth. The Fitbit app has to do the added.

If it is asking you to download the Fitbit app, then you will need to setup the tracker by doing the same steps that where done when first purchased

Open the app, tap account. Add device. Follow prompts.

Yes, I Have done that. I have deleted the app (multiple times) and tried to do the whole setup by adding the device again. But the app just keep saying is searching for a device, so they don’t connect to each other.

Without knowing what model "My Phone" is.. I'm not sure if I can help.

Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Removing an in syncing device from a users account, will only make matters worse. Do a search for, "removed tracker, can't setup".

Why would a tracker/phone communication problem be solved by removing the tracker. Now we are trying to add an unknown device that we already know can not be found.

If we keep the tracker connected to our account, at least the app will know what device to look at.

Sorry @GreMart but your experience is very common.

As for doing a factory reset, this would be the very last step to try.
