Versa losing time, major trouble re-connecting

I'm wondering if most folks have trashed their Versa by now.  I've had it a year and enjoyed it.  But suddenly it was losing time (right after the update).  I tried everything listed on here. I ended up doing a factory reset. At that point, it's took three days before I was able to get it synced with my bluetooth.  I've finally been able to do that, but now I cannot connect it to my wifi.  So I have it up and running again, but it's still losing time.  When I try to connect to wifi, it is in the charger and right next to the router.  Sometimes, it doesn't find my wifi connection.  On the rare occasion that it does, it won't connect.  I've spent a lot of hours trying to get this watch to work again, and am guessing that it's time to trash it--is this your way of forcing me to buy a more expensive watch?  I note that hundreds of user comments with the same types of problems--not being able to sync, not being able to reset, connect to bluetooth and wifi, as well as losing time.  Has anyone found a way to fix these issues, or should I stop wasting my time?

Note:  I have on more occasions than I can count done a soft reset, turned bluetooth on and off, force quit the app, restarted my iphone, etc. etc. etc.

Firmware updates as you have found can be troublesome.

Annoyingly the Versa with 32.72.1.9 seems to be good.

Its a pity to not be able to use it anymore and Fitbit won't accept responsibility for faults due to firmware updates.

Doing a factory reset is a risky business because it can trash the watch entirely [a bug in the process].

Regular syncing may mask the loss of time but no watch should lose time.

As a last resort only you may be able factory reset it and then get it to start without the a firmware update. It may then work with the original firmware. Some recent changes might be missing though.

Probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.

Thanks for the response. I didn’t expect anyone would answer, assuming that most have moved on to another watch by now.

I did a factory reset and it took days and multiple attempts to connect it to Bluetooth—as you say, there’s a bug of some sort. I probably updated it with the firmware. I finally got everything connected today but it still rapidly lost time and then disconnected with Bluetooth and wouldn’t reconnect. At present it’s more than 30 minutes behind and I can’t sync it, etc. with nothing left to lose except time of course I’ll try your suggestion to reset again and try not to update. But after a few hours of madness it’ll go in the trash. Sad tho—I really liked this watch before it became useless.

Thanks for your response. I appreciate it.
