I chose Versa specifically because of the swim tracking. Now it appears that is not a dependable feature. Suggestions?

Yes. Thank you. Do you mean 50 meters as in a couple lengths of the pool or a depth of 50 meters? I swim for 1 to 1.5 hours at a time. Which the “swim” function of the watch tracks for me. After I am done the watch bounces about from mode to mode and vibrates with each bounce. After a few hours, it stops doing that and returns to normal operation. As I say - I chose versa for the swim monitoring. Is ionic (or apple) better suited to track this for me?

It's great to see new faces @Bwally, welcome!
All Fitbit trackers and watches are water-resistant, which means they are rain-proof and splash-proof and can stand up to even the sweatiest workout. You can swim or shower with Fitbit Versa up to 50 meters. Could you please be more specific about the issue you are having? Isn't your watch turning on?
Hope to hear from you soon.

Sorry I didn’t mean to accept as a solution. I didn’t really get a reply to my last post. The “bouncing around” seems to have stopped but this morning my versa missed about the first third of my swim. Also the swipe features often don’t work and lastly, a full charge lasts only a little more than 24 hours. Suggestions?
