Hi, I'm new to this. My new Versa has been working perfectly since new, which is 10 days now, but last night came up with this message...
"This app requires the "internet" permission to be granted"
Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm using a Samsung S8.
Thanks.

Hi Kuzibri,
I ended up emailing Fitbit, they suggested I choose a new clockface from the Fitbit range only, and it's now working perfectly, yeey! Thanks again for your help.

Hi, did you install your WiFi during the setup of the Versa? If not, got to Fitbit app, press the Versa icon om top of the dasboard screen and you will be directed to the page where you also find Clock Faces, Apps. etc. Scroll down to Wifi settings and press this. Can you see your network there? If yes, press it and enter manually the password of your router (mind you, this is Capital sensitive). If no network is present, press add network and Fitbit will start searching for it. Keep your device close to your router. Once it has been found, enter the name of the router and it's password manually. Good luck.

Is this a message on your versa, or the Fitbit app on your phone?
What app is asking for permission?

Sorry..on my Versa. I did try and change the watch face and accidentally chose a paid one, but didn't proceed to any payments.

Does the message appear with the watch Face or when opening a specific app on the Versa.. Some clock faces display weather while some apps require the Internet, such as weather, apps to control smart devices. These apps communicate through the phone to the Internet and therefore need your phones permission to communicate with the Internet.
It means they are unable to do this communication.
If it is with the clock face, then change and switch back. You should be promoted to grant permission.
This could simply because at this time the app was unable to talk to the phone
If your on android make sure that Fitbit has power management disabled.
Also lets check this help doc

I tried the suggestions but nothing worked because I can't seem to get past the message and i'm not being allowed to select another clock face.

@useraci I'm sorry but I don't really see any solutions mentioned above, so I'm not sure what you have tried. You say your not being allowed to choose a new clock face, is it because the Fitbit all does not give you a list of clock faces to pick from? Or do you get an error when picking a new clock face or are you able to pick a new clock face and after the next sync the face does not load? Does your Versa currently have a clock face or an "X"?
Have you contacted support?

So you just can’t use that clock face?

What clock face are you asking about @Day-2 for example some clocks display local weather while others may display sunset and sunrise times. These will require the clock to have access to the Internet and or your location to update such info.

Thank you! This is what worked for me when I had the same error, and had tried everything else (unsuccessfully).

littlemonkeysma, what worked for you?
I was looking for a new clock face today on my Samsung android phone and selected one to view only. Next thing I have an "X" in a circle on my watch face, under which is the message;
"This app requires the "internet" permission to be granted"
I don't wish to install the app, but now I cannot proceed or go back on my watch face.
Holding the back and bottom button until the Fitbit log appeared I have turned the phone off and on again 3 times but the message and X are still there.
Looking for a solution.
EDIT: Finally...reinstalled another phone face which appeared to reset the message and return to clock face.

You can also open the Fitbit app go to your installed clocks, pick the offending one and replace with a different face.

I tried that @Day-2, but there was no facility on the watch face available to do this, but thanks for the suggestion.
As I've described in my earlier post (edit) I managed to sort it by selecting the old watch face on my phone.
