Versa messing with Google music

Finally got my Versa to work with my lg G5 on Android 8. The Veera appears on my phone's Bluetooth as Versa, misc, Versa (classic) and phase.

Now when I try and listen to music on my phone it randomly goes back and forth between songs. This happens when listening through a Bluetooth speaker or from the phone  thoughitself. I thought my phone's SD card may have been corrupted but if I turn off the Fitbit it works fine.

So far this Versa has been a pain. I miss my pebble.

@Metallifux hmmmm I recall having similar issue but it would happen to GM each time I connected to my Prius' BT. It would pause or sometimes skip the tracks. It got addressed with GM update. I'm wondering if it's Versa or something between GM-Versa. When I listen to my GM on the phone and control it with my tracker, I do not have this issue. Is your Versa firmware up to date same as GM app?

Hi Marrrmaduke,

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately it does the same thing when playing directly on the phone (no speaker connected).

No, no, that wasn't my question/point. Does this happen only when you control the playback with Versa or does it happen when you control the playback via BT in your car as well?  Make sure that your Versa, Fitbit mobile app, and Google Play Music are up to date. You can also Forget Versa Classic in your phone's bluetooth settings and connect everything again. What's your phone model and Versa's firmware version?

It happens regardless, its an LG G5 running Android 8.0 all the apps and the Versa are up to date.

If it happens regardless of which device is controlling the playback (your Versa or for example your car), then it's not a Versa's issue but rather phone+google music app combo.

But it only happens when my Versa is connected to my phone...

I've been using this phone for 2 years without issue and only since having the Fitbit had the issue started.

Phone + Bluetooth speaker = no issue

Phone only = no issue

Phone + Bluetooth speaker + Versa = issue present

Phone + Versa = issue present

@Metallifux I thought you had been having issues with playback when controlling it with Versa... What you're saying is your Google music started skipping tracks when you paired your tracker with your phone... Open Bluetooth settings on your phone and forget Versa Classic. Also, open Settings app on your Versa, scroll down to Bluetooth and make sure Music via Bluetooth is set to OFF. If it is, toggle between all three options OFF-ON-PAIR and back to OFF. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes. Reboot your phone.
