I see people posting that they have issues with sleep stages, or that it tracks 0 sleep. I'm having an issue where every single night, it misses like the first 2-3 hours of my sleep. The rest shows up and the sleep stages are there, but missing a bunch of hours. I have to go in and edit it every morning. Is there a fix out there or is this just another issue? I never had these issues with my Charge 2.
Thanks!

I have the exact same issue

Every so often mine with have me up an hour or so earlier than I actually woke up. My flex2 was always spot on.

It is weird. Every morning I wake up and it tells me that I went to bed 2-3 hours later than I really did. So, it is super consistently inconsistent. Then when I edit my sleep time, it is like it recognizes what was going on in those missing 2-3 hours. I just don't get it at all.

Oh now that’s weird lol. Weird that when you edit your sleep, it knew what you did during that time but didn’t automatically record it in the first place. I haven’t tried to manually correct mine. Too scared it might just throw everything off.
UPDATE: Now my sleep stats keep disappearing from the app dashboard. It will show when I sync. Then disappear until I sync again. Super annoying.

I woke up this morning to the perfect trifecta of Versa problems. No steps recorded, although I did take a couple of trips to the washroom. Interrupted sleep stats (I hope I enjoyed the two hours that I was allegedly awake in the middle of the night, don't remember a thing) and a resting heart rate so high that if it were accurate, I would have taken myself off to the nearest emergency room. I reset the versa which took care of the step and heart rate problem, but the sleep, alas, remains a mystery.

Hello all, I hope you are doing fine.
Thanks for troubleshooting this sleep inconvenience by yourselves. This issue is usually resolved by making sure you've met the following requirements:
For all the details about sleep stages, see the help article What should I know about sleep stages?.
Let me know how it goes.

@AlejandraFitbit I'm still having issues with my sleep tracking. For example, last night it measured 2 separate sleep logs, with 2 hours of missing time between. I can speak for certain on when I went to bed and that I was not awake for a 2 hour stretch of time.
I don't understand the "must be longer than 3 hours" topic. My Charge 2 would measure naps and if I woke up 2 hours after I went to bed and went to the bathroom before heading back to sleep, it measured that. Now with the Versa if I do that, it doesn't count those first 2 hours of sleep at all and I have to attempt to go back and edit my sleep the next day. Is there a fix on the horizon for this? It seems ridiculous that on an older model the tracking was amazing, but on a newer updated model, it is terrible.
Thanks for any help!

My Versa missed the first 2-3 hours of sleep last night. When I edited my sleep log it completely randomized my awake time(s), ignoring the fact that the dogs had me up at 3:30 am. That was right until I edited. Phony baloney.

Why is my versa missing 3 hours of sleep? It’s brand new.

I'm having a similar issue. My Versa is missing my first hour regularly. I am up to date in both the app and device. Has there been any progress with this?

I have only had my Fitbit for a couple days and already I have missed one whole night of tracking, 2 hours in the middle of the night tracking, and twice it missed my first 2 hours of sleep. I double checked that everything was updated just to be sure but I just did all that 4 days ago when I got it out and of course, all was good there. Nevermind the fact that the Bluetooth on the device keeps dropping and I need to delete it from the app and reinstall it to get it to reconnect to the app. I really hesitated to get a Fitbit because my Garmin didn't miss a beat but I was distracted by the colorful screen and lower price. I can see now I may have made a mistake.

Sadly nothing on those sites resolved the problem. Like all the other,
posters, I too have exactly the same issue. I upgraded to a Versa SE from a Blaze (about a week ago). I had the Blaze for a couple of years. This problem of missing recording the first two or three hours of my sleep has occurred each night since I switched devices. Nothing else in the environment changed. It also never happened with the Blaze.

Happening to me, as well. My phone, app, and Fitbit are all updated. This never happened with my Versa. It only started when I got my Versa 2. It's definitely glitchier than the Versa was. Or the Charge 2. Or the Charge.

Same with my fitbit versa. I go to sleep at 11pm wake up at 6:15 AM. Fitbit says, nope you went to sleep at 2:12 AM. I loose as much as two to four hours three to four times per week. The devise is simply a watch when it comes to the sleep app. Useless as a sleep tracker.

Mine worked fine until Jan 1 2020 then it misses the first 2 to 3 hrs sleep. Does anyone know how to correct this. The sleep total is now inaccurate.

I had this issue with the original Versa. Tech support had nothing to say except that it wasn't an EEG machine so I shouldn't expect perfect results. Changing sensitivity setting didn't help. I tried wearing it tighter and looser with no benefit. So I upgraded to the Versa 2 hoping for a better result. But it is the same. Cuts off the first 2-3 hours of sleep about 80% of the time. Makes it very difficult to know if I am getting adequate sleep or not.

Wow, if problems like this go on without being fixed I'l ready to return this thing! I have this happen everyday with sleep, it only records starting at 1AM and I am always in bed at 10-11 the night before. Dosen't FITBIT Monitor this stuff so THEY can post an answer?

Sadly, and I know that this isn’t the answer anyone’s looking for, it’s probably not the Fitbit. I’ve had the same issue but it’s really sporadic. I’ve also got sleep apnea so maybe there’s some cause and affect going on. I did reboot my versa 2 when it happened last and it didn’t happen the next day but a few weeks later, it came back. I have to think it’s more likely me than the Fitbit (and it not being as accurate as an EEG).
