I have paired Bluetooth classic with my phone and the watch but it does not stay connected, after about a minute I open the music controls and it says "No Phone Connected" so I go back into the settings and the Bluetooth turned itself off, my phone won't connect to it again until I put it back into pair mode and the cycle repeats. Constantly

Yes this seems to be a problem that recently popped up with all trackers running v4.0.
Since there also was an app update, I'm not sure if users know if it is a tracker or app problem.

***This is not a complete solution, it does not solve everything***
I have figured out a way to at least allow the Fitbit Versa to control a media device while they figure out a fix. It wont update the song and artist information, at least not on mine, but it will allow for otherwise full controls (Previous, Next, Pause/Play, Volume up & down)
Follow these steps while we wait for a full fix:
1. Disconnect Versa (classic) and phone, don't need to forget any connections
2. Go to Settings - Bluetooth on the Versa itself and under "Restore Music Controls" switch to "Pair"
3. Connect phone via Bluetooth to Versa (classic)
4. Quickly double-tap the "Pair" setting on the watch to switch it to "On" (It should go past the "off" setting)
5. Also quickly, after the Versa says "On", tap on your phone to connect to Versa (classic)
6. At this point your phone should have some lasting functionality, everything should work but for me the track information wont update.
You may have to try steps 2 & 3 a few times before it sticks, you'll know when your phone says that it's connected to Versa (classic).
(I tried this on an Android using Google Music as an audio source, this may not work perfectly in other scenarios)
Again, this is not meant to be anywhere near a permanent fix, and I am patiently waiting for Fitbit to fix this issue which, for me, was caused by the newest firmware update. I've at least been using this method to continue limited functionality.

Barbeeque, I had the same issue and the issue with notifications. I got the notifications finally working. But music controls still would not stay connected.
So I removed Versa from my phone's Bluetooth and then did a factory reset to the Versa. Then I reset up my Versa as a new device. Finally, my music Bluetooth connection is working and not disconnecting. I did not have to roll back the app. So my Versa is back to the firmware version 32.33.1.30, which is fine by me. Everything works.........

I think I have found an solution to this issue. I have a Sense 1. I noticed that my fitness stats are updating just fine, I cannot control my music/audio books while I run because it says no phone connected. The solution offered is unpair and repair, that's not a solution, that is kind of absurd if you are active and use the feature a lot.
The problem is with the phone and not the fitbit. I have a pixel 6, there are two connections the Fitbit is trying to maintain via Bluetooth; "Sense" and "Sense Controls". I had the same message, no phone connected. Went to my Bluetooth connections. Only "Sense" was connected. I went to saved connections, "sense controls", connect. Once it connected, I was back in business.
I hope this helps an old issue.

If you see "Music unselected" or "No music" on your Fitbit device's screen, make sure that music is playing on your nearby phone. If your Fitbit device is paired to an Android or Windows 10 phone, make sure Bluetooth Classic is enabled.
