Versa: non-responsive touch screen and failing battery

What began with terrible battery life on my Versa — completely dead in under 12 hours with no notifications and normal use — seems to have escalated. Today, I can't get my screen to respond to swipes in any direction with any amount of consistency. I've hard rebooted a couple of times and it hasn't helped. Additionally, my steps per hour don't seem to be syncing with the app on my iPhone 11.

@kimberlyfaye, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Versa since the screen won't swipe, the battery drains fast and the hourly steps are not syncing with the app. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

Thanks so much. As a follow-up to my previous message, the screen stopped responding entirely yesterday. If I go to the app, I can see it's counting steps and has a nearly full battery this morning, but the screen won't come on at all. I can't even get it to do a hard reset.
