Versa not always recording swim splits

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had my Versa for about 6 weeks and overall I'm very happy with it but can anyone tell me why sometimes when I'm swimming I will get a breakdown of strokes in the app and sometimes I don't? I don't use auto recognise exercise, I start and stop it manually and I do it the same every time so I'm confused why I'm not always getting the same info. I've attached screen shots below to show what I mean of two different swim sessions and you can see on the first there is a Splits tab but not on the second. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

It's great to welcome you @faerybutt.

In addition to completing only a handful of laps or stopping to rest often, inconsistencies in your swim data may be caused by any of the following:

  • Stopping to rest midway across the pool
  • Resting for longer than 60 seconds after completing a pool length
  • Changing stroke type midway across the pool
  • Swimming with a kickboard or not using your hands
  • Swimming less than the minimum duration set to be auto-recognized
  • The units for the pool length setting don't match the units you use for your Fitbit settings. For example if you measure length in feet and inches, and specify a pool length in meters. For more information, see How do I update my Fitbit settings?

I hope this helps, see you around. Robot Happy

Hi there, thank you for responding however this seems like a generic response and doesn't really address my question. As I mentioned, I don't use auto recognise so that doesn't apply and as my settings for distance haven't altered, that doesn't explain why my app would show splits sometimes but not others. Im not sure why resting between lengths would affect my Fitbit recognising what stroke I'm doing but either way, I don't rest for more than 60 seconds and I don't change stroke in the middle of a length.

If you could possibly provide a response that directly explains why my app is registering splits sometimes and not others when nothing I'm doing is different and no settings hsve been changed between sessions, that would be wonderful.
