I live in a 3-storey townhouse so do loads of stairs! My Fitbit One was perfect! Right - I did 2 flights on the trot and my Versa registered both flights :white_heavy_check_mark:

Then I did one flight and it registered none!!

i did what somebody suggested and raised my arm and that registered as a flight of stairs - so, if that’s what it takes, that’s what I’ll do.

I hope this helps - and thank you for the information on how it actually measures the flights of stairs - that makes sense!

I was having this issue too. I discovered that the most accurate way to have the Versa count floors is by walking up them. Jogging or running up a fight of stairs does not register on the Versa. But walking up stairs seems to be counted. I personally find this incredibly frustrating as I want to run up stairs, not walk. But walking was the only way I could get it to count floors.

I go up and down the same flight of stairs all day long. My Versa gets maybe half of them counted...is there a way to just manually add the stairs???

Had the same problem, So I deleted my versa from my account and added it
again and it's been accurate since (3 days)

Hello, I tried this and it still won't track any floors, on saturday I went on a hiking trip and When I synced my versa to my phone it said 0 floors, it's been like that for about 2 weeks now. Every day it says 0 floors even though I climb at least 3 flights of stairs per our( I work at a gym).

I can't even find where my Versa tracks stairs.   How do I add that to my versa?

Hello! My Versa is not counting all my floors.  What is frustrating is that my office is on the 3rd floor-6 flights of steps if not more depending on my starting point.  Am going up  at least 5 times a day. Have tried suggestions on the boards.  Thanks for your help.

I found my Blaze.   And returned my Versa to the store.   And resume counting an average of 13 flights of steps per day,

SmileySmee, first off cute name! 😄. Secondly: did raising your arm above your head make your Versa accurately count the floors? If not, what was your solution?

Hello @Kwalk1, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thank you for trying all the suggestions you found on the boards and for your feedback regarding your Versa. In order for me to be able to investigate further, I kindly ask you to answer the following questions:

- Have you tried performing a restart

- Does you Versa count floors from any other building?

- Do you make pauses while climbing the stairs?

- Do you know if those floors are at least 10 feet high?

Hope to hear back from you soon!

@Blackque1 nice to hear from you again. I'm sorry to hear that you returned your Versa. Thank you for your feedback. Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

@SWVsings great to see you here again. If you are experiencing any discrepancies with the floor count, I suggest that you try the following:

- Restart your Versa: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

- Make sure the floors your are climbing are at least 10 feet high.

Let me know if it worked!

Hi, thanks Smiley Happy  I just raise my arm up when i remember and it counts the floors most of the time but sometimes not.  it's not a solution but it works.  shouldn't have to raise my arm up just to get the versa to realise i am using stairs. i don't wear the watch tightly either.  i hope that helps.

I did what was suggested. My husband has the same Fitbit Versa as I do. His counted the floors but mine did not. Please advise. Thank you.

Dear Lucia,

Danke schön.

1. Restarting it sometimes works, but not consistently.

2. Yes, my two flights of stairs have more than ten feet of rise between each floor. It remains a disappointing thing for me. My Fitbit One counted every floor every time.

3. My Charge II and now my Versa may count 1 in 10 times, and sometimes not even that.

4. It fails to count them in other buildings as well, alas.

5. Raising my arm above my head at the top of the flight does not help, and looks silly too.

6. Walking up at a normal pace yields the same result as walking briskly up.

7. There is a landing on each flight but I treat it as simply a step so do not take two steps on it but one, in the hopes of getting credit for the floor when reaching the top.

8. Sometimes I add a few steps from the basement flight in an effort to get it to add up to a floor and that doesn’t help either.

9. My Versa altimeter hole at the back is not clogged with anything.  I checked.

Vielen danke for whatever help you can offer.

Sincerely,

SWVinHarmony

Does not count steps even if I do two floors. Today I've done 10 floors and tried to do them differently to register. It used to count all 10 consistently, but just for a couple weeks. Anyway, now it says 3 floors. Way off. I have no idea have done several factory resets and dozens of soft resets over the past couple weeks.

None of these suggestions make any difference to my versa’s inability to accurately and consistently count floors.

The ceilings in my gym are 30’’ high and on a GOOD day, my Versa counts two flights of stairs as one. At home (my house is 2-story and my laundry is in the basement), it randomly counts either zero or one out of five flights. If I switch to my Surge while the Versa’s charging, it does a better job. Maybe I should wear both at the same time so the old tracker can teach the new kid how it’s done.

My Fitbit versa is syncing 175 stairs and 13000 steps and I've been wearing it for about 3 hours. So disappointing

I know when I go for a walk it won't sync my steps so I don't know when I
hit my goal. Maybe should have done more research before buying?

My floors never count on the versa light, why? On my blaze they always counted.  Might have to return if it does not work correctly.  I tried restarting it but no luck glad I didn’t give my blaze away help.

Mine doesn’t count floors! I restarted it and took it off the app on back on no help.  I thought the versa would be a grade up from the blaze but it isn’t.  Going back to my blaze and sending this back to hsn.

Thank you for paying attention to this. My Versa dashboard has nothing that counts stairs. I am trying to put one on it (my friend has one) but don’t see how to do it. Can you guide, please?
