This morning I ran a 5k, my RunKeeper app as well as the treadmill both calculated the 3.2+ miles that were logged, but my new FitBit Versa only counted half of the steps. I was so excited for this new tracker, but this was very disappointing! Please let me know there is a fix to this?!

I have a new Versa Lite and walked 6 miles on treadmill today and only logged less than 5,000 steps. My fitbit one would log almost 12,000 steps. Something is definitely wrong. Any answers?

This is extremely disappointing. My Alta HR did a great job of tracking steps on my walking treadmill I use while working. Guess I need to return the Versa and look for something else. My dog ate the box. Can I still return it?

It also works by putting it in your sock.

I agree, I had a Pebble watch which worked fantastic but then Fitbit bought them and I don’t get the functionality that I was able to use before. What did they do to the software? How can you take a great product and make it worse? Make it a Fitbit. They keep trying to sell Premium to allow better service, but when I had the Pebble it was all free. Maybe we should we should all tell them to get their act together or we will go elsewhere.

Mine is the same. Today I ran 4km, shows on my workout summary but no steps counted and before anyone posts, I wasn’t holding on. When I manually entered the activity it did not increase any steps so why are treadmill steps not being counted?

That's really not a great answer. There are many of us who aren't comfortable not using the handrails...it's a safety thing. Rethinking my fitbit purchase now....I use the treadmill so much and then swim neither of which tracks.

Does the versa 2 work if you put in your pocket on a treadmill is itcounting steps? I have to hold the rails for balance as well and I think it counted less than half my steps.

@Mitts72 @t-o-m-k I hope you are doing fine.
Let me help you with your Versa 2 not counting steps while you are on the treadmill. I do suggest you try placing it on your pants pocket. This way your device will count steps and you can grab onto the handrails.
@t-o-m-k while it is not suggested if you wish to keep wearing your Versa on your ankle make sure it is properly secured to avoid any accidental damage. Some users have commented on using a sport wristband to properly secure it.
Let me know how it goes.

That works better than expected. I'm a little embarrassed that I could not figure it out.

@leogodin217 Thanks for being part of our Community!
Really happy to hear that your Versa is now counting steps while on the treadmill. Which suggestion worked for you? I ask as this may help other members in the same situation.
I look forward to your reply.

I put it on my ankle yesterday and it only logged 4 of my 7 miles I ran. I’m not happy. I have tried it on my wrist, other wrist, ankle. I swing my arms almost a
embarrassingly and it won’t accurately log treadmill at all. I’m not impressed with Versa 2.
