Versa not holding charge

My Fitbit versa is no longer holding its charge for more than 4 hours. How can I rectify this? It used to just need charging every few days?! I can’t really wear it anymore as it just dies in the middle of the day.

Hi

i have the same problem. The screen seems to keep a background blue light running which drains the battery. Have tried changing the clock design but no use

My Versa also died in in about 20 hours with light usage. I've noticed it has been dying very quickly over the last two weeks. Really annoying 😕

I too am having a similar problem, though mine will last about a day.

I charged it on July 31st, wore it for several days and had to charge it on Aug 5th. Since then I have had to charge it every single day. I have tried rebooting it, I have tried factory resetting it, I have tried a different watch face.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here @Hadders1st @ShaunLangers and @lgmartian! Nice to see you again @Tom.lipscomb and @NellyG.

Sorry to hear that your Versa isn't holding its charge. You can also try cleaning the contacts including using cotton with rubbing alcohol then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's usb port (try different ports) or use an UL listed usb wall adapter. After this restart your device and see how it behaves.

Keep me posted on the resolution.

Tried all those things, seems to lose about 10-15% in an hour just on my wrist. I factory reset it and that didn't help at all. I've cleaned the pins, let it sit on the charger for a bit longer to make sure it's well and truly at 100% and nothing seems to work.

For my versa I don’t think it’s the battery, it’s that the screen is constantly on. Even when I turn off the screen a light blue light keeps being omitted which I think drains the battery...?

Hello - thanks for all of the advice. I’ve tried all of the suggestions but nothing is solving this unfortunately. I can’t use it for anything ie alarm, watch, timer, step counter, notification when I receive a text message - the charge usage when fully charged is now only about 3 hours - absolutely useless 😖🥴😫 refund or replacement needed I think.

  • My Versa has gotten to the point where it doesn't even charge past 0% anymore. Cool, paperweight.

Update: I went on a live chat and then emails with Fitbit.com and they asked me to charge the versa fully and then throughout the day and sync my versa 5-7 times until the charge had depleted. After doing this they were able to test things their end and could confirm that the battery was draining rapidly through the day. They said that I was eligible for a replacement and so I will have a new Fitbit versa within the next 5 working days. I’m a happy customer - great service from Fitbit.com.

I have the same problem. I have a replacement Versa because my first one stopped working and now this one dies after only wearing it for a day after being charged. Not sure if it would still be covered by the guarantee?

You're lucky ! I had the same battery issue as everybody else on this page and I cannot have a replacement because I bought my watch over a year ago so theres no more guarantee. I'm pissed.
