Versa not logging active minutes when pushing wheelchair.

I have noticed that my versa does not register my active minutes when I am pushing my husband in his wheelchair. I have however, noticed that instead of registering steps when I am pushing him it registered as bike ride, I was wondering if anyone could explain why this occurs. Thanks.
