I actually returned my first Versa, since I bought it from Amazon, not
Fitbit. The first one had a heart rate monitor that didn’t work at all, the
green lights never showed up on it.. I’m on my second one now, and this one
has a working heart rate monitor, but it doesn’t log the sleep stages
still. I might have to return this one too. Very disappointed. I have had 4
earlier versions of the Fitbit and have loved them all.

I am having the same issue with the sleep patterns. Its very disappointing. I wish they would figure this out. I'm sure my tattoos interfere but this is stupid.

I have no tattoos, and have used 4 other versions of Fitbits without any
problems whatsoever, it seems the Versa has some serious issues.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one with this issue. However that makes me worried overall about the quality of the product.

Once I started tightening the band a bit more during night, the sleep tracking results have become significantly better - now I have usually 3 "simplified" nights in a week (so 3 out of 7). Still worse than with Charge 2 but getting acceptable.

I’ve tried it tighter than I normally wear as well as slightly looser than normal wear and I still get just the simplified sleep. It’s really dissapointing. The Charge 2 never had this issue. I chose the Versa over an Apple Watch since the Versa has the built in sleep monitoring & had a great experience with the Charge 2. The Apple Watch 3 requires a 3rd party app for in-depth sleep tracking and anaylysis & costs a lot more than the Versa. I’m very close to returning the Versa, putting that money aside and saving up for the Apple Watch or something else. For $200, it should work right and Fitbit should be working their butts off to solve this issue.

Yeah Im about done as well.....
6th watch..... 4th model design. I find it interesting... now that the thread has become about how we are planning to return, there is no more replies from moderators/fitbit reps. Also, Ive seen thread after thread of this issue since the feature came out over a year ago, and resolutions are just about never found.

I am having the same issue. It showed the sleep stages one night and now I get the basic.

I have been on with Customer service for the past 3 days because my new Versa is also not tracking sleep stages. I upgraded from a Charge 2 which was flawless. Worked like a charm. Customer service was absolutely ZERO help with my issue. I am so disappointed that this Versa was released to the mass market before it was ready. There are ALL kinds of bugs I am running into. Fitbit Customer service has really gone backwards. They used to resolve quickly, now everything is scripted responses and ways to put off helping you for another day or two. Try this, try that and then call us tomorrow is what I continued to hear.

I’m pretty sure I’m sending mine back (first group of Versas), getting a refund and purchasing an Apple 3 watch. This is ridiculous.

I’m having the same issues. I’ve wanted this Versa for forever. Got it for Mother’s Day. The first night I had it, logged each stage like a boss. Nothing but simple sleep stages since. For $200, this thing should log that info with no issues. They need to fix this ASAP. Has anyone gotten anywhere with customer service?

Hello, I did not get anywhere with Fitbit they advised that I take it back to where I got it. Obviously that is a huge inconvenience to the customer and made me very upset. Now my wife who left apple to come back to Fitbit is having issues with her watch not counting floors. So disappointed that all the bugs seem to have been unchecked by QC upon the release of the watch. I took my watch back to Macy’s and they exchanged it for a new one. My new one is working great. No issues so far 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I've been having this issue too. When I first got the versa at release it worked well for the first week and then stopped tracking sleep.properlg. I went through customer service which was no help at all and was about to return it when a firmware update came out and it magically started working again .Now, for the past two nights it has stopped tracking sleep properly again and now I am past the return period .I don't even know what to do with this thing anymore 😞

I have a slightly different problem in the sense that it's tracking sleep but once I get up for the bathroom it stops; this was never the case with my Charge 2 for the last 2 years so disappointed. I hope they provide software fixes soon for the issues identified here. I've already gotten rid of my Charge 2 on Kijiji so really don't want to take this back.
