I was surprised to see an auto sync without having to turn everything on and off. And I had a Fitbit message something about ...one moment please..need to clean up files..

So yes, I think there was an update.

They are there today as well.  Shocking but excited.

Just coincidence... Or did you try what I had described?

I did not do anything.  They were just there and now this is the second day as well.  Keeping fingers crossed.

Yep, they seem to come & go. Most of the time my Versa tracks my sleep just fine, logging Sleep Stages properly. Then the "Basic Sleep Pattern" will be logged. That is when I need to Manually input them with the following steps I have worked out.

*VERSA:* *Sleep Stages - Solution *
Not receiving the correct "*Sleep Stages*":
Awake*,**REM**, **Light, **Deep*
*Instead* - "*Sleep Pattern*" appears:
*Awake**, **Restless**, **Asleep*
Upon receiving "*Sleep Pattern*" - *DELETE* the "*Today*" log.
*Create a new* "*Add Sleep Log*" - *(+) * * Top Right Corner*
*Manually Input* the hours of sleep - *SAVE*

This will populate the correct "*Sleep Stage*" Graph that everyone expects & wants to see/receive. This method corresponds correctly to the Hours and Levels of Sleep measured during that time frame.

I Hope everyone finds this useful and resolves your issue.

Thanks
Antonio P.

Tried what you suggested but still no luck. Bought my versa 2 days ago. It logged sleep the first night but nothing after that. Have reset the watch, my iPhone, the Fitbit app but the behaviour remains the same

The solution should have 100% Resolution. I have Developed this Resolution and Fitbit has even Acknowledged it in my emails to their Development Team and the Technical Support Team.

I have had 100% functionality, along with my wife and many others that have executed it properly.

Thanks

Hi guys, I hope you are doing fine.

I appreciate your patience and all the efforts in trying to fix this issue. There are several factors that might affect your sleep stages information:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Make sure your Versa has a proper heart rate reading by checking these instructions. Additionally restart your Versa by doing the following:

1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
2. Let go of the buttons.

Let me know if you need anything else. Robot Happy

The log sleep and band rash has not been resolved, for several tracker models...will Fitbit ever fix these problems, other than stop wearing your devise or keep the default answers?

Best Answer

I had a Charge 2 that tracked very well. The Versa doesn't. It will give me an hour or maybe less of information. I have tried resetting, changing the sensitivity, changing wrists, making it tighter, making it looser. All with the same results. Basically, it doesn't work.

Solution by Antonio. worked perfectly! Only solution that worked for me.

Tried different sleep sensitivity settings but that didn't help. I noticed that my sleep data was available before my HR data was synced, even though it would actually need my HR data for the stages. Perhaps this is a syncing issue.

I have just got a versa, my first fitbit ever. I was so **ahem** excited about it. I smashed out my steps, added my food log and was looking forward to seeing my sleep patterns. Everything was working fine, I went to bed and when I woke up in the morning no sleep log or step count. The only thing it saved was my food log. Everything seemed deleted. I tried fitbit for advice and tried again last night and the same thing happened!!! What's going on 😠

Unfortunately mine isn't working well either.

I have called the support group and they have some fixes.

Give them a call.

I have tried that and followed the advice, still not working. They now say it's my phone, but how can that be when it works fine. Syncs good, get texts and calls and notifications. Logs my stuff perfectly then wipes it all of an evening. Think I'll just take it back and get my money back. Not worth the heartache. Such a shame though.

Nothing has changed. Just another one of those times when it does not log sleep for a few days. 🤨

It works!!! Thank you very much, Antonio! I just bought Versa last Saturday for this purpose, was disappointed Thursday and this morning only show sleep patterns. I followed your instructions and the sleep stage show  up like a charm. P.S. I have a regular charge and Alta.

I've tried everything on these blogs/forums, but my Versa is not keeping the detailed log (REM, deep sleep, etc.) of my sleep pattern. This is the only reason I got this device, and all I am getting a stupid "restless" stick every morning when I check the log. Please advise if this is a bug that can be fixed in a software update, or have I been tricked into something that does not work?

Best Answer

As my previous message on December 1 to thank Antonio that I have followed his advice to delete the sleep log and then re-add the sleep log and it works like a charm. Hope this helps you too!

Thank you for your response. However, I think this is turning into an exercise of superstition where we are all trying different things hoping for the device to at some point do what we paid it to do.

This is simply ridiculous, even more so that we are getting generic messages with a smiley at the end from the moderators...
