Versa not picking up GPS golf or notifications, expensive piece of equipment, how do I get a refund

If you are after a refund that depends on where you bought it. If it was fitbit Online store then you have a window of 45 days to get a refund (contact support - link in my signature ). At other places it depends entirely on the store policy.
