I've had my Versa for 5 days. Not a lot, I know. But, I've been a Fitbit user for about 6 years now and have loved all of them. I became spoiled receiving call and text notifications with my Surge so I was super happy to know I would not lose that feature with the Versa.
Here's my problem - At my job I must keep my phone silenced. Until yesterday 4/24 I always received them. Now nothing. I thought maybe with all the other issues that were going on with the Versa and Ionic, it was related. This morning I discovered the other problems were corrected, but now in order to receive notifications I can't have my phone silenced. It reads, "Your phone's ringer is not on. Incoming calls and app notifications will not be sent to your tracker while your phone is in silent mode."
I hope this is changed. I can't be the only person wanting to receive notifications but must keep phone silent. I normally don't "jump on the bandwagon of complaints" when it comes to technology. I usually wait it out to be fixed. However, the message leads me to believe this is not just a bug in the programming but an intentional setting. Please fix this so we can always get notification as long as the phone is on no matter what setting it's in.

Is there any way to allow my versa to receive notifications while my phone is on silent? For the first 2 weeks it was receiving them without any issues, but now when I go to the notification settings in the app, it tells me that notifications will not be sent when ringer is off. It wont even let me send a test notification. The notifications work fine when my phone is on vibrate or the ringer is on.

Thank you for you response. I had been receiving notifications even in silent mode up until the issue on Tuesday, so I thought it was a new issue. Apparently I was lucky before.
Thanks again

Do you have an Android? Attaching a solution someone found for Samsung phones. Huaweis work on silent without an issue. Try this:

I agree this is not acceptable Fitbit. I have always been able to get my notifications in silent. Also, it would be nice if along with the vibration there was a wake up screen to alert you of the notification and call.

@Kshockley. @sportmom3 and @XenDazzle thanks for the update.
I appreciate the attached image and as mentioned, our team released to 100% the next Fitbit for Android app update: 2.71. In this app version, we released the fix for this notifications issue. Please update your app.
You will see a new option in your Notifications Settings that reads "Vibration Settings", which is where you can toggle on/off if you want to receive notifications when your phone is set to Do not disturb or Silent mode.
I'm glad we could get this resolved for you all and your patience was really appreciated.
