I have tried all the steps to get Versa to sync with new phone. The texts work now but I'm not getting my other notifications such as email. I am using an iPhone XS.

Welcome to the Community @SunsetRunner.

Thanks for troubleshooting this issue by yourself. Keep in mind that in order to have a successful connection between your watch and phone, it needs to be a compatible mobile device.

If your phone isn't compatible, it doesn't mean that if won't work with your Fitbit but you might experience some connectivity issues. You can always try the instructions provide in the help article My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone.

Let me know how it goes. Man Happy

So are you saying the notifications don't work with the Iphone XS?

How did you get the text notifications to work? The calendar and calls are working but not texts for me with the iphone xs.

I have read all of these links and nothing is helping.  I have a Versa and an iPhone XS.  The sync works, as I can see my steps and heart rate and sleep patterns, etc, but I don't receive notifications.  When I try to go to the notifications setting in the fitbit app, after waiting a long time, a pop up comes up to say All-Day Sync is now turned off.  At first I thought I was just missing some notifications, but then I figured out that my old iPhone 6 was sending the apple message notifications through (so I got my husband's text messages) but the iPhone XS sent nothing (so I miss calls and texts from people using my phone number without Apple messaging).  Please help.

I bought my Versa to replace my Charge 2 yesterday.  I had no issues with Notifications on the Charge 2.  But despite all of my efforts - Notifications will not appear on my Versa.  (Note - setup and syncing the Versa to my IPhone seems to work fine in all other respects).

I tried:

  1. All steps listed in the Fitbit help: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone.  Some steps were tried several times.
  2. Factory reset of Versa - no faces or apps installed - still no notifications.

Environment: IPhone 7, IOS 12.0.1, Versa Firmware: 32.10.15, Fitbit App: 2.81.1 (798).

The question for support is: Is there a known issue (in the bug list to be worked on) with IOS 12 notifications not being sent to Versa?  A yes or no answer to this question would be appreciated.

EDIT: Just an additional Note - the Versa does "ring" when I receive a phone call - so things must be pretty close to correct -- just no notifications of any kinds.

Continuing my previous reply...

After a few more hours of playing with the Versa - I finally got Notifications to Work with IOS 12 on my IPhone 7.  The following worked for me (after trying all of the reset/restart/reinstall/reboot suggestions had failed) - these instructions assume the IPhone on IOS 12 is able to sync with the Versa :

  1. The following settings are all On:
    • Versa - Notifications - on Quick Settings (Hold Left Button for 2 seconds)
    • Versa - Setting App - Notifications - I turned both options to 'On' just in case.
    • Fitbit App - under Versa - Notifications - Calls/Text Messages/Calendar Events all On
  2. For IPhone setup:
    1. Settings App - Notifications - Fitbit:
      • Allow Notifications is ON
      • All three Alert Styles are ON (Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners)
      • Banner Style: Temporary
      • Show Previews: Always
    2. Settings App - Notifications - Messages:
      • Make sure settings are ALL the same as listed under 2-1 above (Fitbit).
    3. Settings App - Notifications - Phone:
      • Make sure settings are ALL the same as listed under 2-1 above (Fitbit).

Once I had all the setting aligned as above - notifications and call are appearing on my Versa.  FYI - I also noted that if I clear a Notification from the Notification Center on the Phone it will be removed from the Versa as well.

I hope this helps someone.

Mine still does not work.  Idk if it could have something to do with my WiFi??  After I tried the suggestions above I couldn’t get it to sync at all.  Then I restarted my phone & still nothing.  I took my old phone to the gym just in case, but then all of a sudden my heart rate started showing up.  Came home & tried to get to notifications, & now they sync won’t work at all again.

@SunsetRunner @HeatherMN Thanks for the update. If you have started experiencing difficulties to receive notifications after updating to iOS 12, please be so kind to toggle bluetooth on/off.

Hope this helps.

Turning Bluetooth on and off doesn’t help either.  That disconnects it, and then when you try to connect it says ‘connection unsuccessful’ ‘make sure “versa” is turned on and in range’ repeatedly.  In a few hours it will connect again and update my steps & then I’ll get FB Local notifications for some reason, but not calls or texts.

I have an IPhone XS Max running in IOS 12 and a FitBit Versa. I do not receive any of my text notifications and have troubleshooted multiple times. I do see where you mention incapatibility several times, but my phone and the Versa are in fact compatible. I would love if I could locate an actual resolution. I have already tried the 3 steps listed several posts below.

@Lisaneedstomove I usually sync with my droid but from time to time I do sync with iphone XS Max. Notifications work without issues for me. Can you please elaborate which troubleshooting steps have you tried?

I have tried the three steps listed in the earlier post and turning Bluetooth off and on.  I have also restarted both devices (versa & iPhone XS) & updates the iOS.  BDD761B7-352A-4EDE-A76B-E6ECE35DE014.png

When I try to get to notifications or turn on all day sync, I get a message that I need to pair.  If I go through the Bluetooth settings I also get an error message.  It acts like they can’t see each other, but I am still getting FB local notifications and my steps are still there.  Also it says it synced at 2 am this morning.   So idk how it isn’t pairing.

@HeatherMN At this point I would try deleting the tracker from the Fitbit account and performing factory reset. I would also forget Versa from the iPhone's Bluetooth settings and reboot the phone. After factory reset, Versa will have to be linked to your Fitbit account again (set up). As factory reset wipes all data from your tracker, please make sure you synced.

I need to google how to do that.  I synced then removed the device in the Fitbit app last night, & did the set up again, but that didn’t help.
