I have an iPhone 7 and I receive call notifications but never any text messages?

You can choose which ones you want on or off. 

Have a look on pg. 29 on how to do it.

I would like to know if you keep having issues receiving text notifications? If you do, I recommend taking a look at the help article My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and follow the instructions provide there.
