Versa not reconnecting to Bluetooth headphones

I leave my home and Versa is connected. I am also listening to music via my Bluetooth headphones. After a while, my Versa screen shows "connecting..." and I no longer get my kilometer updates. The Bluetooth headset continues to play the music, thereby signally that Bluetooth is still functioning. The Versa continues to show "connecting..." for the remainder of my run (about an hour). I have learned that the only way to get the Versa to reconnect during a run is to turn off my Bluetooth and promptly turn it back on. Shortly after that, the "connecting..." disappears and I get my kilometer updates. However, the "connecting.." indication often sometimes does return later in the run. Obviously, turning Bluetooth off and on multiple times is not practical when running. What should I do?

Hello @MacWilder iItoo find that turning off on the Bluetooth often helps, or a phone restart .

As for Bluetooth the fitbitFand headphones connect using different protocols and yes one may work while the other does not .

You mention the headphones are connected but I see nothing about what they are connected to, the phone or the versa itself.

Everything is connected to the phone and nothing to the Versa. Let us
review. At the beginning of my run, the Versa is connected to the Bluetooth
and thus to the phone. Obviously, at that point, the Bluetooth is working.
After maybe 15 minutes (it varies), the Versa starts saying "connecting..."
but doesn't reconnect unless I turn the Bluetooth off and on again. I only
mentioned the Bluetooth headphone as a proof statement that the Bluetooth
was continuing to broadcast through this period.

But are more important us the observation that the Versa would connect
again if the Bluetooth were turned off and then right back on.

It seems clear that the problem is not with the phone or the Bluetooth but
with the Versa. The only factor that might be involved is that I do run
through areas where for short periods cell phone data may be interrupted.
Such interruptions, if they occur, would be very short and should not
induce the Versa to permanently lose connection.

Well the Bluetooth gps connection should not be affected by cellular connections.

I only asked about the headphones because it is possible to load music on the Versa and then connect the headphones directly to the Versa.

Your headphones communicate through the old BT protocol, now called Classic .while the GPS connects through Bluetooth Low Energy.

One thing to try is to enable always connectedcon the Fitbit app.

I find there are times a phone restart is needed, and also noticed that at these times I'm unable to connect to my printer.
