Versa not recording heart rate accurately

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa needs almost constant rebooting in order for heart rate to read properly, on the treadmill the stats say I am just relaxing when in fact I am dripping sweat, it counts my steps just fine, has long battery life, you name it everything else is fine but the heart rate, what's my next step?

My heart rate is not changing as well.  I called tech support earlier today and we re-booted but it appears to have the same issue, not changing pulse rate.  I can take off the watch and no dashes appear for, well, a long time w/o resetting - or if I change the screen it updates - but I can't tell you how awkward on an elliptical that would be to always change screens to see current HR.   😞   -- This is a new issue noted a few days ago working out- it was working fine before that.

Hey @SarahD531 and @ModernGymViking, welcome to the Forums.

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourselves. If you are having issues with your heart rate readings, I recommend taking a look at this post, where you will be able to see some things that might be affecting this reading and some tips to improve it.

Let me know how it goes. Robot Happy

I have tried wearing differently as well without heart rate changing.  what is the protocol for heart rate when removing from wrist?  shouldn't it take several seconds and change to - - -?  mine will not change from last heart rate.  advice pls!!

My FitBit versa is facing the same issue even when I'm lying down or if it's off my wrist it's recording the heart rate as 118-145 and a factory reset or whatever isn't working.

Hi I wish I had an answer for this as I too am experiencing the same with my new versa. Ive compared HR between the versa and an old polar strap device and the polar said 147 and the versa said 94!!!!! Ive tried everything to improve the readings. really disappointed with it.

Mine is fine for most things, but the GPS seems off (overestimates distance by a little under 10%) and the HR is wrong for running. I've worn it for 3 runs. The first time it said by HR was 200 most of the time (the watch was a 57th birthday present; going by max HR = 220 - age, I don't think I'll see a 200 HR, besides my max on a Polar 21 years ago was 172). Yesterday it was a bit high all the way round, but not as extreme. Today, I wore both the new Fitbit and a Garmin with a strap. The Garmin said my max was 131 and the average was 121. The Fitbit agreed most of the time, but for a total of 13 minutes out of 65, it was much higher. The Garmin graph is a wavy line getting higher at a very gentle angle, while the Fitbit shows the same up to 40 minutes, when it shoots up, stays more or less level for 5 minutes then drops back, and does the same for the last eight minutes. I'll give it a week, as it seems to be getting to know me, but it's going back if it doesn't start getting this right.
