Versa not recording workouts accurately

I recently switched from a Charge 2 to the Versa, and ever since my workouts have not been tracking/recording accurately. For instance: today I had a 72 minute CrossFit workout, which I had the Versa record as a Workout. When I was done, it showed that the Workout lasted only 19:29 minutes, burned 179 calories, and had 933 steps. The same shows up in the summary on the app. However, if I look at the details of the workout, it shows my heart rate for the full hour+ workout, and the non-exercise readings show that I burned approximately 600 calories during that period and took 5500+ steps. I've tried Workout, Bootcamp, Circuit Training, etc., and the same happens for all of them.

And I don't know if it's related or a separate issue, but if I open the exercise record on the app (I have an Android) and try to make any edits (to change the name, or to manually fix the calorie burn) it crashes the app and tells me I have to restart the phone. Again, this happens every single time, but only on workouts picked up from the Versa--if I use my Charge 2, everything works fine.

Any ideas for how to fix?

Hello, after reading the scenario certainly seems the exercise is presenting an odd behavior, although it may be different reasons that will explain this misbehavior, like the placement of the tracker on the wrist or even the exercise session was accidentally paused. Pausing an exercise may not necessary will stop your other data as your Versa will continue reading your stats, the difference is that will not be contain in an specific exercise category.

Using different categories of exercise will not modify the rate at which is burned the calories, will display different set of stats or will provide GPS features though.

For general information on how data is calculated please review: How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

If the app is crashing at the moment of editing the exercise, it would be worth to review the version of the Fitbit app. For more details  regarding new version refer to this article: What's changed in the latest release of the Fitbit app?

Also a restart might do the trick by logging out from the Fitbit app, restarting the phone (If is Android is optional to clear the cache of the App) and log back in to the Fitbit app.

See you later and stay awesome.
