Versa not syncing with phone

This is my second Versa, I could not get the first one to sync with my Samsung Galaxy S7. Went on chat with fitbit. After attempting several things, they recommended returning it.  I bought from Amazon and they shipped a replacement.  The same thing is happening with this one.  The Bluetooth on my phone sees the Versa but the app does not.  I have uninstalled the app from my phone and then reinstalled. At this stage I will probably return the Fitbit credit my account  and get some thing other that Fitbit.

I am experiencing the exact same problem with my Versa. Last week, it connected to my phone's app but come Saturday. Nothing. Sunday morning when charging, it magically synced but nothing since. I have tried:

a. Uninstalling the Fitbit app

b. Restart phone

c. Restart Versa

d. Turn off Bluetooth

e. Made sure no other Bluetooth device was one in my house

f. My notifications (Fitbit Sync Service on the Moto x4: Unavailable)

g. Repeat options a-f with great frustration and same outcome: WILL NOT SYNC!

 

I have owned two Fibits prior to the Versa, with a Pebble in-between. I was hoping for the Versa to be more like a Pebble but have been disappointed the past week and a half. About ready to throw the towel in.
