Versa not tracking GPS activities (biking)

My Bike is not being tracked on my Fitbit versa. Should I return it for another one. This is my first week having it. It’s tracked my runs but when it comes to biking it says 0 after I’ve done about 9 miles

Hello @Dallas21, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to have you on board. Smiley Happy

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Please note that if your phone doesn't find a signal immediately when starting a GPS activity, it's possible that environmental factors including tall buildings, dense forest, steep hills, and even thick cloud cover can interfere with your phone’s ability to connect to GPS satellites.

For best results, wait for your phone to find the signal before you start your workout. However, if you don't want to wait you can start your workout and GPS tracking begins when your phone finds a signal. Note that Versa uses your step count to calculate distance until it finds a GPS signal, but as you're tracking a biking activity, steps are not being counted, which explains why the distance overall when you finish the biking activity is 0.

At this moment, before starting a biking activity, I would like to suggest you to check the following:

  • Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and your watch is connected (paired) to the phone. To confirm, go into your phone's Bluetooth settings and make sure you see Versa on the list of devices.
  • You selected an exercise type from the Exercise menu that uses connected GPS. To check, tap the gear icon on Biking and check that GPS is listed and set to On.
  • Your phone is within about 30 feet of your tracker.
  • Your phone can identify your location and can track your location when you're not using Wi-Fi. For more information on which phone settings you may need to adjust, see How do I use exercise apps and modes on my Fitbit device?

After verifying all the requirements, try using GPS again by following the instructions in How do I use multisport or exercise mode on my tracker? If you're still having difficulty, try these troubleshooting steps:

  1. Open the Fitbit app to reestablish a connection with your tracker.
  2. Reboot your mobile device.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.
